SOCIAL BOOKMARKING: Popular new trend online is known as social bookmarketing. Say you like to surf a little at work, but you're scared to bookmark your favorite sites? Well you can do it on your account at a site like: http://del.icio.us Also you can see what other people are bookmarking. So the idea is you bookmark sites that you want others to visit. Other people using the site can see the bookmarks you make available to the general public and if it's something of interest they're bound to visit your site. http://del.icio.us is one of the more popular social bookmarking sites online.

SEARCH ENGINE SPECIALISTS: These individuals or companies have expertise when it comes to understanding search engines. They offer various services that promise to give you top ranking in the major search engines. They do this by sometimes making changes to the html or coding on your website. They also commonly create what are known as “doorway pages” which are simply pages that are content weighted toward a certain keyword, allowing that doorway to show up in the major search engines when someone types in that keyword. Others companies simply will create accounts with the pay per click search engines on your behave and charge you inflated prices to get you bid into the top of the paid listings in the major search engines. However, that is really something you can simply do yourself simply by going to any of the PPCSE’s. So watch out of these companies. The best results I’ve had were from companies that are experts at creating doorway pages for your site. I list this and a few others at:

PAID INCLUSIONS: Many directory sites as well as search engines will index, or list your site for a fee. These are what are known as paid inclusions. Generally they simply charge a one time fee to allow their website spyder, or human agent to visit your site to determine what keywords or categories it should appear under. This can reap a high return on investment however you need to thoroughly research the directory you’re thinking of listing with to ensure that it has a high ranking. You can do so by using the tools at: and is receiving ample traffic. That way at least some of those visitors will eventually end up at your site. Also, conduct some searches with the directory or search engine to try and determine where your site would rank if you paid for an inclusion. Many of these directories only show PPC ads at the top of the rankings simply because they are a member of that PPCSE’s networker marketers program. So if you end up at the bottom of the list under a certain keyword or category it may not be worth it.

SLIDESHARE.NET: SlideShare features a vibrant professional and educational community that regularly comments, favorites and downloads content. SlideShare content spreads virally through blogs and social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Individuals & organizations upload documents to SlideShare to share ideas, conduct research, connect with others, and generate leads for their businesses. Anyone can view presentations & documents on topics that interest them, download them and reuse or remix for their own work.

LINKS ON SOCIAL NETWORKS: One thing you want to do is get your squeeze page, sign up page, blog, or your main MLM webpage listed on as many social networks as you can. Typcially what happens is a social network will give you a webpage. It might look something like: www.socialnetwork.com/yournickname . So an example of this is: https://mlmrc-com.tumblr.com . In that case they provided a sub-domain. But the point is they give you a full page on their social network. And from there you can add links pointing to your main offer, or squeeze page, or mlm sign up page. And direct people to click on those links. So if you get on enough of these social networks, those will all start to appear in Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. The more social networks you can build these landing pages on, the better. There is a large list of social networks at the bottom of this page. Build accounts on all of them, with links to your main site. Also if you Google: top 100 social networks you'll find even more. This kind of task might take a bit of time to complete, but it's really worth it. Because you'll get some free visitor traffic from this. And those pages are typically permanent.

YAHOO INCLUSIONS: One of the biggest and best directories you can still purchase paid inclusions under. Once you submit your site and pay your fee they will review your site. Currently the review process takes 7 days. Based on my research approximately 80% of the sites are accepted. So as long as your site meets with their requirements it will be accepted so be sure to review them before you submit your site. The trick to using this is to create an actual landing site or else to rename your site so that it’s specifically designed to get under the category you want to be under. When indexing your site they only look at your websites: title, description, URL, and the category that you choose to be listed under. So be sure they all are targeting the keywords of the category you which to have your site listed under. After you’re accepted you’ll have up to 3 days to make any appeals in case you’re not satisfied where they have indexed your site. (See: http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html )

YAHOO ANSWERS: Go on yahoo answers (answers.yahoo.com) and answer questions relating to topics such as: the network marketing industry or home based business or work at home or making money. You'll find tons of opportunities to get your link out to people that want to find the solution that your business opportunity can provide them with. You can also do this with quora.com. People are asking questions on those sights from around the world. It's an easy way to get free advertising for your business opportunity.

TWITTER POST SCHEDULING: By now you should have a Twitter account. If you don't already, then go on twitter and set one up. It's just another big social network which will allow you to reach out to a massive audiance of prospects. Now do a few tweets, to get comfortable with how it works. Now what you want to pay careful attention to is an option they offer which allows you to "Schedule Tweets". So when you click on the plus sign, it comes up with a box that says "What's Happening?" and that's where you type out your tweet. So you type out the tweet you want. Include the website, video, or signup URL you want to add into it. Add whatever hashtags you want as well (important). But then instead of clicking the "Tweet" button, you click on the "calender icon" on the bottom right. That will allow you to set up a time and date in the future in which your tweet will be sent out. The great thing about this is that this feature is both "free" and it's provided right on "twitter" itself (no 3rd party tool required), which means you know that it will work, and it won't crap out on you. So now what you do is you load up at least 1 tweet per day. You load those up on there, to be posted in advance. So you'll schdule at least 1 tweet per day for the next 30 days. Have the tweet go out at around 11am estern time if your in North America. Or your local time between about 9-11am. You can play with that a bit too. Once you have your set of about 30 tweets done, you can save them in a .doc file and just reuse them. If you want to put out new content that's fine too. Just be sure that you have a set volume of tweets that are going out, 1 per day with your main message. Each tweet can be on something new such as showing off your: website, blog, video, signup url, company products, sales, or whatever. After you've created your 30 tweets, you can load them up into Twitter within under an hour. So now you'll have twitter working for you on autopilot for the next month for free. Of course theirs lots and lots of tools that do the twitter automation for you as well. However, most of them are paid services, such as Hootsuite and others. That's another way to automate it. But if you're on a budget, the point is that you can now schedule your tweet for free right on twitter. So do that once per month and it will help you to be constantly reaching your twitter followers with out having to do that everyday. It will save you a lot of time by scheduling them in advance.

PAID ADS: Many sites sell advertising space direct. You can rent this advertising space to display your banner, pop-under, button, or text ad. Many sites will also sell space in their newsletters or act as a email broker to rent you their list. You can rent the webspace in a variety of ways such as by impression, cost per click, or for an agreed upon length of time. Be sure to check the websites page ranking by using the tools at: Often times this can be a cost effective solution as many smaller sites which still receive solid levels of traffic will allow you to display your ad for 6 months or a year at bargain basement prices. This strategy works great if you can find sites that receive the same type of targeted traffic that you do, but which are not selling anything and are more just informational sites. Many of these sites would be glad to receive a any extra cash flow possible off their site. Also don’t take the first price they give you. Be willing to negotiate with them to get a lower price. Also when dealing with individual sites, never pre pay months in advance. Only pay for a month at a time if possible. That way they can’t take your money in the unlikely event that something unforeseen was to happen to them.

TWITTER: Create a Twitter account. Start to follow more people each day. See who follows you back. And send regular tweets out to them. You can automate your tweets using socialoomph which is free to use.

YOUTUBE VIDEO SEO: On Fiverr.com you can search for: youtube video seo. You'll find specialists who have strong technical abilities that you can hire, and who will help to rank your video at the top of the youtube search results, for the keyword(s) you want.

JOG YOUR MEMORY: Use this tool to help jog your memory of people that you know or have known from the past that you can contact which could make for good prospects that you could share the opportunity with. Also you can share this PDF with any of your current downline members: click here

IFTTT.COM: You must get this set up. This is extremely valuable. There are many youtube videos that explain how to use it and how to set it up. Stands for "if this then that". It's a website that allows you to automate a lot of functions. The best example being that it will automatically repost one action you take online to multiple sites. For example: once you have ifttt.com set up then you could say for example upload a youtube video to your channel. When that happens ifttt works in the background to repost the video to say for example up to 30 different of your other social media accounts. So ifttt will repost that upload you did automatically to: facebook, twitter, pinterest, flickr, tumblr and so many more accounts. The benefit is your get a lot more bang for your efforts and it's totally free to use. When you set up an account click on: myapplets ..then on... new applet...then click the big "this" in blue. Then choose your input, and go from there. Watch a few youtube videos on how to use it and you'll get the idea very quickly. Great automation tool.

GUEST BLOGGING: Find popular MLM blogs. Contact the owners. Introduce yourself and ask them if you could be a guest blogger. In the sig file area of your blog (closing) plug your website, and or social media accounts.

SOCIAL NETWORKS: Social network sites such as: Google+, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube, Pinterest, Reddit, etc, are just a few of the hundreds of social networks that are out there. Many of them offer free classified ad sections that you can advertise in as well as other forms of advertising. I mention a whole list of these sites at the bottom of the page. You need to get on at least the top 10 or top 20 of them.

INSTAGRAM.COM: Instagram is a FREE fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends and family. Take a picture or video, choose a filter to transform its look and feel, then post to Instagram it's that easy. You can even share to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and more. It's a new way to see the world, a great platform to share info on your business by pictures and video.

RECRUIT GURU'S: You wouldn't hire Auntie Forence to build your house or fix your car would you? So why would you hire her to try and build one of the most important vehicles you've ever had to build...your business! That's an amature move. Don't do that. Here's what professional network marketers do. They find already experienced network marketers to join their downline. If the person doesn't have a background in network marketing they might even turn them away. Because you want "experienced rep's" that already understand the industry. You don't want amatures that don't know what they're doing. So again, write this down on your "to do list" right now: *** "I will find and try and recruit experiened network marketers only". This is so critical that we dedicated a whole page of training to learning the secrets to finding and recruiting experienced network marketers: click here

WIKIPEDIA (edits): Wikipedia is the worlds largest online encyclopedia. The beauty of it is that you can go into it, do a search for any keyword relating to your product or service, which will bring up Wikipedia entries on that topic. You can then go in and edit those entries. I wouldn't do anything to drastic to a page, because they'll simply exclude you. But rather just go to the bottom where it says "external links" and add your site there. They also do not allow commercialized sites on that. So if you want to make sure you're ad remains in the "external links" section of a Wiki then you need to have it linking to a doorway page of your site which just provides generalized content about the topic of the Wiki. So if the topic of the Wiki is "starbucks" and you sell starbucks coffee mugs, then go in and create a doorway page talking about some generalized info on starbucks and or starbucks coffee mugs. Then add subtle links off the doorway page leading off to your main page. ie: "brought to you by "coffee mugs r us" (and link it to the main page). And continue to add your site under all the keywords (wiki entries) you can find. You can even create your own orginal Wiki-entry if it's not already on there. Wiki entries often appear at the top of google searches as well so if you have your site linked up on those pages you're bound to get free traffic. This has go to be one of the very best ways to get free traffic I can think of. Also there are many copycat wikipedia's and wiki's you can find, edit, and add your ads to.

CRAIGSLIST.ORG ONLINE CLASSIFIEDS: This site is worth mentioning simply because of the advertising value it represents. It was ranked 66th most popular site in the world according to Alexa.com (2008). It allows anyone to post free classified ads to it. So it's a great source of additional free traffic. And with that many visitors going there, it's bound to generate some free traffic.

FREE ONLINE CLASSIFIED ADS: Post your ads free to many of the popular classified ad sites online here's a list of them.

WIKIHOW EDITS: SI just love this one. It's great. You go to wikihow and then do a couple things. 1) edit existing wiki's. They key though when editing is you have to be "extremely subtle". Plug delicately or the next editor will remove your stuff. So if you have a blog that can be found by typing a few keywords into google just say something like "....so if you google search: mshealthgal you'll find my blog...bla bla bla. Just keep it very clean and short and it will be an ad that flies under the radar for potentially years. Anyone reading the wiki will see that and might google search your site.

YOUTUBE VIDEO COMMENTS: If you see a video that might attract your target audiance be sure to leave a comment. Possibly offer some feedback that will get others talking with you and replying to your comment. That way you can bulid some dialog and start directing others over to your own videos and landing page.

FACEBOOK GROUPS: Facebook.com has "Facebook Groups". Each target a specific audiance. Join all the MLM groups you an find. That includes names of companies, mlm keywords, and other home business groups. Then advertise your opportunity by logging into each specific group and making a discussion post. But post it as an ad, or post a link to any videos you have set up.

INSTANT MESSENGER ADVERTISING: This is one of the newer up and coming forms of advertising. It is available through both the purchase of software or the purchase of an advertising package with a service. This type of advertising allows you to send your advertising directly to peoples computers via their instant messaging programs. Bulk email is sent to an email address which is sometimes not even checked. Messages delivered by IM programs are delivered straight to the screen of your client. This advertising is suppose to bypass your ISP’s mail server systems. By doing so it is undetectable to your ISP and will basically allow you to avoid problems with them. Companies try to sell this as the newer cleaner alternative as opposed to bulk email.

PAY PER CALL: Pay Per Call works similarly to click-based advertising, except that it drives phone leads to your business, rather than clicks to an Ecommerce website. Like click-based advertising, Pay Per Call enables you to (1) easily sign up as an advertiser and create online advertisements, (2) bid for prominence in search results, and (3) manage budgets and accounts using a secure 24/7 account manager. For online-search engine and directory consumers, Pay Per Call works like this: Consumers search for merchants or service providers in a designated geographic area. Then, relevant Pay Per Call ads appear in search results. When your business's ads appear in search results, consumers can reach you via the toll-free numbers that is often provided with your Pay Per Call ads. These toll-free numbers forward calls directly to your business number as well as track calls for billing and reporting purposes. For each call that comes to your business this way, you pay the price per call that you bid in advance.

PAY PER CLICK ADVERTISING: Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising is a type of online advertising in which advertisers (i.e. you) pay for visitors on a Cost Per Click (CPC) basis. That is, advertisers only pay when a Web searcher actually clicks on a link and visits their Web site. PPC advertising is different than "traditional" online advertising, where advertisers pay according to how many times their ad is displayed. With Pay Per Click Adverting, an ad can be displayed many times, but the advertiser pays nothing unless a Web searcher actually clicks on the ad. When done correctly, PPC Advertising can produce highly targeted traffic -- the most sought-after and valuable entity on the Web. Call it the evolution of the "traditional" search engine. Pay Per Click Search Engines allow advertisers to sign up and bid on specific keywords -- keywords that are relevant to the particular products and/or services available on their Web site. Advertisers bid for priority location in the search results of these relevant keywords. The order in which listings for a particular keyword are displayed is determined by the amount of these bids. Depending on the specific PPC Search Engine and also on the demand for a specific keyword, the CPC for that specific keyword can be as little as $0.01 or as much as a few dollars. When a Web searcher types in that keyword, that advertiser's listing will be ranked according to the amount bided, compared with all other bids on that keyword. But regardless of how many times the listing appears, that advertiser only pays when a searcher actually clicks on their listing and visits their Web site. The most popular PPC Search Engine is: Google Ad Words – http://adwords.Google.com Also see...yahoo search marketing. These two entitles dominate the PPC market. They feed the majority of the largest search engines online which include: Google, Yahoo, Bing, and thousands more. They are also the most reputable, giving you real value for your advertising dollar, and real visitors to your site.

WORD CLOUD: It’s a simple tool which displays a word cloud from an URL; the keywords having higher density are displayed in a larger font than the rest. This way a webmaster can verify the right keywords are targeted with optimum density and can have a general view of the usage of all the keywords used in the site. Artificial Keyword density can carry a red flag to the search engines and this tool can help you determine whether you are using a keyword at warning-level. It’s a fantastic tool, as the visual demonstration of the results means no expertise needed by the webmaster, and should be helpful for webmasters all around the world. Google the keywords: word cloud, or keyword cloud to find cloud generating tools and more information on how to integrate a word cloud onto your own site.

IMPRESSION ADVERTISING: These are companies that have large networks of websites that sell and exchange advertising space. This advertising space comes in the form of pop ups, banner ads, button ads, and text ads. You submit your banner, button, popup, or text ad to them and purchase a contract of impressions. Each impression means that your ad will appear 1 time to one visitor to whichever site it appears on. You generally can purchase large banner impression packages of at least 10,000 or more. Because you’re ad has a low percentage that it will be clicked on these impressions sell for bargain basement prices at less than 1 cent per impression. Also you’ll pay more for the size of each impression ad you display, such each large pop up impression will sell for more than a small text ad impression.

TRAFFIC BROKERS: Traffic brokers specialize in providing website traffic to paid clients through a number of means. They get their traffic through things like: networks of websites that sell advertising space and abandon website addresses. The traffic they sell is generally somewhat targeted, usually based on generalized categories that relate to different industries. You can purchase advertising in bulk from anywhere form 10,000 visitors or more at a time. The traffic generally arrives at your website in a rapid pace of several thousands visitors per day depending on your industry. Generally the traffic coming from brokers is of lower quality, so they sell it at bargain basement prices such as in some cases at less than 1 cent per click.

GOOGLE GAGETS: Google allows anyone to create simple gagets. Which are tiny add on programs that anyone can add to their website. You create a gaget and place it in their gaget directory. Be sure to include some blurb about your website or headline about your business opportunity on your gaget. A simple way to get a gaget built is by using freelancer.com. Just create an account, list what you want your gaget to do or what gaget you want it to function similiarly to and you can hire a programmer to build it for under 100 dollars.

VIDEO SHARING SITES: There are a ton of Youtube copycats out there. Many of which have visitorships in the millions per month. You can use the same advertising strategy as mentioned in idea #1 above on these and other popular video sharing sites. There is a whole list of them at the bottom of this page.

LIVE STREAMING VIDEO SHARING SITES: There are also a wide range of live streaming video sharing sites. These are more geared toward live video streaming. The basic idea is you can set up a TV show type of program. You set a time which you go live and broadcaste your TV show to other users of the website. You list your show listing under the appropreate category so that users who have interest in that can find you and watch you online. Then the idea would be that your show would basically be about the content of your website. So if you're website is about card tricks for example then that's what you're show would be about. Most of these also include the ability to record your shows so that you don't have to do them live, and people can watch your recorded show at their leisure. One example of this is: http://www.blogtv.com

GMAIL EXTENSIONS: Google https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/category/works-with-gmail has a variety of extensions that plug into your gmail. They are a variety of automation tools that will speed up your emailing. There's a variety of these plugins that can help improve your email experience, especially if you have to deal with a lot of inbound and outbound emails.

LIVE STREAMING VIDEO PAY SITES: Another type of Lives Streaming site is your pay per minute streaming sites. There are some of these sites that do cater toward a broad range of topics and categories. Anything from cooking to auto mechanics or just about anything you can think of. The best part is that if you're streaming live video on these sites and people tune in, you actually get paid per user, and per minute as the sites generally share the revenue with you. Again there is opportunity to advertise your site and or yourself as an expert under one of the appropriate categories. One example of this is: ifriends.com

EBAY / AMAZON: Test out selling your products retail on ebay and also on amazon. Chances are good they'd sell there. So you'll get easy income from the retail markup. Then each time you get a customer of them, you could also contact them again after they've had a chance to use them. Explain to them that their's also a business opportunity behind the products you sell that they can also join if they'd like. If you can get this to work this could be an ongoing source of both revenue and also prospect leads to join your business.

EMAIL LIST BROKERS: Email list brokers have websites and systems set up which have allowed them to develop or purchase enormous email databases. These are email addresses of people who have “opted-in” to receive various offers relating to specific areas of interest. For a fee you can send your email advertisement to the list broker. They will then send out the email for you to their list. And because it’s coming from the list broker who is already in contact with these database of people your message won’t appear as spam. Although the response rate is low the ROI is actually quit high using these email lists. Another form of this is that the email broker will actually sell you the list. You then can use the list as much as you want using your bulk email software. However, generally these lists offer lower quality response.

HIT EXCHANGES: I’ve been testing and trying various hit exchanges. Some work and actually bring in traffic. Others are flat out scams. Google search: hit exchanges for the latest ones. The trick to being successful with hit exchanges is first you need one with a proven track record of actually delivering traffic as promised, and second you need to post the right kind of ad into your account after you join. The key to a good ad is that it should be focused on website owners. That’s because 99% of people using hit exchanges are website owners. So your ad should appeal to them. In mine I say something like “Get a free link on my index page”. In which they can click to submit their testimonial to me which will display on my index page. There are only two I’m going to recommend as I know they work which are: My first choice which has already sent me thousands of visitors. And this new one I found which is rated as the best there is online simply because supposedly the architecture of their exchange allows you to get far more visitors than other typical exchanges. So also check this one out as well. These two should be enough to get you started with using hit exchanges.

SITE SUBMISSION SERVICES: These are companies that offer to submit your “site” to large databases of search engines, directories, newsgroups, or classified ad sites. You simply submit your information to them and for a fee they will supposedly send submit your listing to their database. These services can be beneficial as long as you can find the more reputable ones to deal with. These services can save you tremendous time as compared to doing it yourself. Search engines and directories these would be less likely to end up being saturated by these types of services. Conduct a thorough review on the company before using them.

AD SUBMISSION SERVICES: These are companies that offer to submit your “ad” to large databases of newsgroups, forums, or classified ad sites. You simply submit your information to them and for a fee they will supposedly send submit your listing to their database. Again, these services can be beneficial when dealing with the more reputable ones. These services can save you tremendous time as compared to doing it yourself. However, keep in mind that countless others must have already used the service before you, so their database might already be saturated and end up being low quality. Conduct a thorough review on the company before using them.

BULK EMAIL: Use bulk email software to mass mail your sales pitch, article or newsletter to thousands of potential customers per hour. Just be careful you don’t get in trouble with your internet service provider. This might happen if you’re using their SMTP mail server to send out the email. You’ll need to use software that uses your computer as it’s own SMTP mail server or has some other protection measure in place. Also try to find something that has some sort of email cloaking feature to hide your email which most of them do. Bulk email is still legal in almost every country including the US, however, if you plan to use this as a main source of advertising be sure to check the spam laws in place in your country before proceeding. Read the prior chapter on “Harness the power of email” for more details. Visit: to find bulk email software.

SMARTPHONE APP: Create a smartphone app for iphone, android, and blackberry. Which are tiny programs that anyone can add to their phones. You create an app and place it in their app directory such as itunes. You can either give it away or you can sell it for small fee. Be sure to include some blurb about your website or headline about your business opportunity on your app in the form of an ad. A simple way to get an app built is by using freelancer.com. Just create an account, list what you want your app to do or what app you want it to function similiarly to and you can hire a programmer to build it for under 100 dollars.

ONLINE MALLS: Join an established online mall to advertise your website. Just be sure that the mall has a high ranking with Alexa.com so you know it has solid traffic. Malls that cater toward specific types of industries and products work best. Online malls are a great source for finding networker marketers and links exchange partners.

skyrock.com: This site has recently gained mass popularity as its one of Youtube's new social networking networker marketerss. Could be an excellent opportunity to showcase your mlm opportunity.

NEWSGROUPS: Places where people post messages to one another on specific subject matter. Traditionally you would download these using a news reader program. Now they are graduating more and more toward web based access, almost like regular online forums. You can post messages about your products, services, and or website to newsgroups. See the prior chapter on “Advertising to Usenet Newsgroups” for more details.

BE A GURU: One way to get attention is to brand yourself as an industry guru. One of the fastest and easiest ways to do this is by simply setting up some social media. Putting on a nice suite. Creating a brand name for your operation. ie: Eric Worre is known for being "Network Marketing Pro or GoPro". or Sarah Robbins is known for Rock Your Network Marketing Business. So you create some kind of a brand around your name. Then you do a series of youtube videos. You put out good training content. Then what you do in each video is you ask the visitor to sign up to your newsletter and or have them visit your website. That funnel leads them onto convincing them to join your downline. The prospect sees you as a network marketing authority figure since you know so much about the industry so they're more likely to join your downline instead of someone else's. And like most things you have to become it first. So become the guru and then just start to see yourself in that mind frame so you can attract the kinds of downline members you want working for you.

CAR: If you have a company car you could turn it into a mobile bill board by simply adding your company name and website address to it. You see this already all the time on taxi cabs and buses, and it will bring in some additional traffic by way of people seeing your vehicle and copying down your website address.

STATIONARY: If your company deals in person with clients on a regular basis then why not get your company name and website address printed on your stationary. This works great for pens, mugs, and just about anything. Just be sure to give these away to any prospect or client you deal with. That way every client will have your company mugs, and other stationary getting noticed by their friends, family, clients, and colleges. These work great as additional free bonuses to give to customers. That way each customer is advertising your product or service to others, and if anyone asks them about you, they’ll have a story to tell them as well about your amazing website, products and services.

JACKETS: This could be used by you, or if you have employees, you could make company jackets for the whole team. It’s another way of getting one or more walking billboards.

SECOND LIFE: Second life (secondlife.com) is one of the largest virtual worlds online. It allows you to build basically a virtual life. With millions of people using this, it could be a great place to advertise your website and brand. Companies both large and small are advertising in the Second Life virtual world. Very inexpensive advertising and definitely worth investigating.

METAVERSE: Another one of the largest virtual worlds online. It allows you to build basically a virtual life. With millions of people using this, it could be a great place to advertise your website and brand. Companies both large and small are advertising in the facebook metaverse virtual world. Very inexpensive advertising and definitely worth investigating.

BUMPER STICKERS: Cute, short and to-the-point. What exactly do they say? If I had a bumper sticker made it would say simply: www.comportone.com  For Internet users it would be easily understood, yet for non-Internet users it would make no impact. But if you are trying to reach Internet users - it works. There isn't any room to put an explanation so if the name of your business doesn't convey the intended message, bumper stickers won't work for you.

STICKERS: Strategically placed stickers around your city or town can also drive traffic to your site. You’d want to be able to stick them in places that are both ethical and legal. You also want to stick them in any type of place where you’re target market gathers, for example: perhaps certain areas around campus, or other targeted areas where you know you’re target market is gathering. The most effective stickers are ones that could either be disguised as ones that are “meant to be there”. Or, that offer some kind of value. For example a sticker offering instructions, notices, or other information as though it was meant to be there might not be taken down as fast as something that’s blatant advertising. Or you could have a sticker that is designed to ad value to a situation such as a home or car security sticker. Each of which would also display your website address and even a message as to why your site is worth visiting.

MASS MAILINGS: These would include those coupon-filled envelopes such as Valu-Pak, The companies that deal in the coupon packs let you choose the area [usually by zip code] that you wish your information to go to. Since they send the mailings out bulk rate, you cannot single out only certain streets unless you choose to address them yourself. The post office also has a minimum number of pieces you must mail to get the discounted rate.

GOOGLE CHROME EXTENSIONS: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions If you're using Google Chome as your main browser, it has a lot of plugins that can also be added to it. Many of them will help automated and speedup your workflow, allowing you to get a lot more done. So check that out as well.

TELEMARKETING: A properly refined script presented by phone to the right target audience sharing a highly competitive and attractive offer will often sell. And the beauty of it is that combining this strategy with your website works extremely well here’s why. When you talk to the caller by the end of the conversation they should have decided to do 1 of 3 things. 1) Place there order with you over the phone. 2) Place there order on your website over their computer , or 3) visit your website later to review your offer. The key here is that if your offer is attractive, and presented in a highly personal fashion you may get as many as 50% of your callers to at least visit your website. Following which a certain percentage is guaranteed to order. And with more and more innovations such as unlimited long distance plans for a fixed rate coming out, and all the mailing lists of niche demographics you can buy off the net it makes telemarketing a unique concept that may be worth exploring for your market. Especially if what your selling is “high end” item where the client is buying “you” often more than the real value of the product, and they need to be sold on your personality.

FORWARDING NEWSLETTERS: Always encourage readers to forward your e-mail newsletter to their friends. Simply add a line of text at the end of a newsletter asking them to forward it on to friends that might be interested in it. It's easy to do and adds a viral element to your newsletters.

MAGAZINES: The circulation can be huge or considerably small depending on which magazine you choose. But circulation is not as important as hitting your target audience. Don't advertise in a computer magazine if what you are trying to do is sell cosmetics. The prices for advertising in a magazine are as varied as the number of kinds of magazines there are. If you are trying to promote your local business (and it is not a mail order business, but a service-type business) you do not want to advertise nationally. There may be a magazine printed that just covers your local area. Or try an area trade magazine or newsletter. For instance: Rockford Apartment Association newsletter is an ideal place for service-type businesses trying to secure contracts with local landlords. Again, a feature article (as in a newspaper) would bring added attention to your business.

T-SHIRTS: Another offline strategy for getting your name and website address out there. These work great as additional free bonuses to give to customers. That way each customer is advertising your product or service to others, and if anyone asks them about you, they’ll have a story to tell them about your website, products and services. Depending on how well made the T-shirts are and how good they look and how well they’re kept they could have a shelf life of up to a few years.

LETTER HEAD: This strategy helps to advertise and reinforce your brand. Just be sure your print is readable and that you have a distinctive company logo on your stationary.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS: Any fliers, brochures, reports, samples, manuals, books, articles or any other promotional materials should have your new company website address on them. This will allow anyone viewing these items to log onto your website to learn even more or even immediately place an order.

BUSINESS CARDS: These are important tools. If you deal with prospects and clients face to face then this is a great way to advertise your website. And even if you think you don’t deal with any customers offline you should still have business cards readily available. As often the topic of conversation ends up being: “so what line of work are you in?” Giving you another opportunity to give someone a mini brochure and access to your website address. These cards you can make on your personal PC just by purchasing card paper, or for higher quality you might want to spend a few bucks.

TRADE SHOWS: Trade shows are a great way to get exposure for your product, service, and website. You can set up a trade show both at popular industry venues which will attract both new customers and strategic partners. Another way to get exposure at trade shows is to rent a tiny space on someone else’s booth offering a brochure or CD on your company and website. Just be sure that you focus in on trade shows that directly targets your industry.

FAIRS / FLEA MARKETS / SPECIAL EVENTS: Fairs and flea markets can get tons of foot traffic. You could create your own booth if you want, however, you main objective is simply to get people to visit your website. So what you could do is simply find someone who has an existing booth and work a strategic partnership with them. Try to get a mini stand on their booth to display your fliers. Or even burn a CD offering tons of free software, or information on a specific topic to give away which will include information on your website both on the CD cover and in it’s data. You could charge a small fee just enough to cover the cost of the CD or even give them away if you think that they’ll attract the right prospects.

BOOTHS IN MALLS: Some malls can get foot traffic in the millions of visitors per month. You could create your own booth if you want or try to get a mini stand to display your fliers or brochures. Or even burn a CD offering tons of free software, or information on a specific topic to give away which will include information on your website both on the CD cover and in its data.

EX MLMERS: This is one of the best ideas I've seen in a while. It works like this. Go to Wikipedia and or Google. Type in: network marketing. or type in: failed network marketing companies, or network marketing companies that have gone bankrupt. And maybe add a recent year as well. ie: 2016 or something. Create a list of say 5 popular companies that you and everyone else has heard of that filed for bankruptcy. Now google search: the name of the company + rep + call + an area code + *** **** . And experiment with this. or Google search something like: XYZ Company rep call me at + an area code . And you have to play with it a bit. But you'll find the phone numbers of ex reps of that company ALL OVER THE PLACE. Then you call them, and you ask them if they are interested in trying out a new network marketing company. They've already done network marketing, they understand it. So they're not going to ask you: "what's network marketing?". They'll either say yes, or no. And if you say "I could email you some info if you're interested?" There's a reasonably good chance of them saying "sure". So you get their email and you email them your company opportunity info. It's a bit time consuming to do this, but there are ways to optimize this. ie: You hire a telemarketer to do this for you. Just hire a friend, relative, or a freelancer to do this for you. Or you just do a few calls like this everyday. Or you get a automated calling system to do this for you. If you only need say 3 people then this is the next best thing to talking to friends and family. After the friends and family phase this is one fast, direct option to tap into very hot leads that know the industry and that will seriously look at your opportunity.

EXPIRED DOMAINS: By far one of the easiliest ways to build traffic is by getting expired domains. You find a domain that use to be run by a network marketer who eventually dropped out of the company. But had done a ton of advertising to their old site over the years. And there's a lot of these out there. You have to become an expert at finding and getting "expired domains". Youtube search or Google search: How to find expired domains..... or niche domains. Get some of these. Point them to your main MLM sign up page. That means traffic will end up at your sign up page.

GOOGLE TOOLBAR: This is a plug-in that adds itself to your IE browser. It has one key tool that you need to use which is the “Google Page Rank”. The Google page rank will help you determine if a site has enough links, traffic, and credibility to be worth linking to. You can download a copy of this at: http://toolbar.Google.com

ALEXA TOOLBAR: The Alexa Toolbar is a free search and navigation companion that accompanies you as you surf, providing useful information about the sites you visit without interrupting your Web browsing. You will be able to use this navigation bar to check a websites overall popularity as well as find out what other sites are linking to it. This tool will be extremely handy as you link to other sites as you’ll be able to check in real time they’re “Alexa Ranking” and how popular they are and if they’re worth anything to link to. http://download.alexa.com

TAKE A FLIER: If you can’t afford to pay to rent space to host your fliers, there’s still tons and tons of places that you could place your fliers at no charge. It simply may require some redevelopment of your flier so that it appears your giving out some free information on a specific topic that relates to your product or service. There are many places you can place your fliers such as: management of stores, malls, plazas, restaurants, community halls, night clubs, groceries, schools, colleges, hospitals, churches, cafés, lobbies, city hall, hotels, auditoriums or stadiums, and other venues. Just be sure that your flier doesn’t look like sales material, or a store flier. Make it look like an educational topic of interest from someone who’s trying to do some good for the community by educating people on a specific topic. Then as visitors use your brochure to get to your website you could simply demonstrate in your online materials why your product or service is also a beneficial aid to solving the visitors problems.

STORES: Stores also get tons of foot traffic and also focus in on specific demographics of their own customers. Try to get a mini stand to display your fliers or brochures. Or even burn a CD offering tons of free software, or information on a specific topic to give away which will include information on your website both on the CD cover and in its data.

DOOR HANGERS: This is a flier that’s designed to be placed on a door handle. You can still be somewhat targeted based on the type of neighborhood you’re blanketing with your fliers, but generally your product should appeal to your average home owners demographic. I’ve seen it done where a company places a door hanger on the door requesting a water sample which is later used a way to demonstrate why your water has contaminants and why you should buy their water treatment system. However this kind of same tactic could be employed for the internet. Instead you ask them to visit our website to find out something that relates to the product or service your selling. You have to set it up in a way where the user gets really curious about finding out something such as in the case with the water sample. For example you could ask them to visit your website to find out how much interest they’ll end up paying on their mortgage, or in car payments, or ask them to visit your website to determine how much their current home is valued at. Just be careful to make sure you’re doing it in an ethical way that isn’t breaking any competition laws.

CO-OP ADS: One way to reduce costs is to take out advertising on a co-op ad basis. For example, say you want to take out an ad in a major magazine that would end up costing more than your existing advertising budget can afford. What you do is approach all your networker marketers or strategic partners to chip in for the ad. Then whatever revenues, or leads are generated by the ad would be evenly distributed among those who were part of the co-op. You could even set up a separate URL as a doorway page in order to track the clicks the ad generated. This work great when targeting advertising mediums that will give you a discount if you buy large amounts at a bulk rate.

MATCH BOOK ADS: At first glance match books might hardly seem to be an effective marketing strategy. But consider the case of International Correspondence Schools (ICS). They’ve been using coupons printed inside match books since 1881. And they receive about 300,000 responses annually from their match book marketing. It’s a unique angle that could be exploited for the internet. For example: You place an add saying “download free ring tones to your cell phone at: www.freeringtones.com”. When someone goes to your site they are asked to enter they’re name and email before they can access the ring tones. That way you’ve captured the lead which you can follow up on with additional cell phone accessories or services.

YELLOW PAGES: This is a great place to advertise your product or service and get new exposure to your website. The yellow pages are almost the industry standard directory when it comes to finding various products or services so why not get listed. Just be sure to have your website address in any ad you place.

ONLINE YELLOW PAGES: There are also online yellow pages that you can get listed in as well. Again these are extremely valuable in allowing customers to find businesses based on geographically targeted areas. The online versions allow you to have a link going to your company website as well. See to find the online yellow page sites.

YOUTUBE COMMENTS : Youtube allows you to place comments on many of the videos playing. You can post a comment but then include or direct the user to do something that will have them find your opportunity. Like if you're website name is: Amwaybymark.com and it comes up at the top of a google search when you do a search for: Amwaybymark - Then you could say in the youtube comment something like "also google: Amwaybymark. Again it tells people of a way to find your website. Direct websites can often get deleted, so you have to sort of experiement with it but people are doing it.

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX: One easy way to get traffic is you have to make a conscious effort to begin to “think outside the box”. Let me give you an example. I was doing some targeted mass emailing. It was going so so. The offer I had was “awsome”. Which was simply giving webmasters a link to their own website and placed directly on my index page of . (check it ouf for youself) What website owner in their right mind could refuse a free permanent link placed on the index page of a popular website, giving them free traffic for years! You would think not many. But unfortunately, probably due to too much spam that people get, my offer wasn’t being taken seriously enough. And the response rate wasn’t great. So I simply began to “think outside the box”. I just thought to myself: “how can get people to notice this email”. And I reasoned, “rather than just sending it out, who else might be far more likely to read this?” I realized that one major demographic of website owners that would read it was in “webmasters forums”, and also in “email marketing forums”. So I posted a message into the forums saying something like this: “Hi there, I’m just about to send out this email to my database but before I do I figured I’d better get some feedback from the group. Can you please take a look at it and then any comments or suggestions I can get before I send it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED”. Then I posted the email marketing offer so that everyone in the forum could see it and take advantage of it. The response by webmasters seeing my offer in the forum was amazing. Some reviewed the offer and gave advice but many took me up on the offer themselves, securing a permanent link on my index page. And that was the main intention of posting it like that in the forum. To get it responded to. So that’s one example of thinking outside of the box in your online advertising. Another example that comes to mind was displayed recently by a business author named: Seth Godin. He’s an author who’s competing against tons and tons of other books for sale in the business section at the book store. So on one of his recent books “Free Prize Inside” he had the book placed inside of what looked like a miniature kids breakfast cereal box. So when it’s crammed in with all the other books on the shelf it looked like someone had stuck a food package of some sort into the shelf. So as you’re browsing it immediately stuck out like a soar thumb. You couldn’t help but pull it out and at least look at it! And that’s the idea, to get someone to pick up your book before anyone else’s, which will improve your odds of getting it sold. Sure enough I checked back, and they were all gone in no time. You get the picture. So before placing an ad, or doing anything to promote your item, THINK for a second!!! Figure out “how can I do this differently so that it gets noticed”. Or that people will pay attention. If you do the same old boring things that 99% of other competitors in your industry are doing then you’re results will be dismal at best. They’ll probably blend in, instead of standing out and getting noticed. So try thinking outside of the box for a change. There are also countless websites and books on how to think outside of the box. I list some of them at:

DIRECT MAIL: Carefully crafted sales letters mailed to a highly select demographic of buyers from a mailing list can often be a powerful marketing tool. Be sure to include your website address in your sales letters whenever doing direct mailings. It will give you credibility showing that you have a website. It will give the reader an opportunity to learn even more about you, your company, and your products and services instantly over their computer, and it will allow them to place their order right from home. This strategy can work beautifully for approaching key networker marketers that you want to try and recruit rather than just emailing them.

LINKS EXCHANGE: Or “reciprocal links” as some call it, is when you agree to post an ad on your site, such as a text link, banner or button, and in exchange the site whose link you’re adding will do the same for you. Just be sure that the sites you exchange links with have the same type of targeted traffic, have a high Alexa ranking, and have a strong Google Page Rank. Also be sure that if they’re putting you on their “Links Page”, which is common, that they have a link to that links page showing on their main page, or index page. Because if no one visiting there main page can find there links page then you won’t get any traffic. And better yet if you can convince them to put you on their index page you might get as much as 10 times the visitors from a single link.

REDDIT.COM: This site has grown to have a giant following. This is a user-generated news links site. Votes promote stories to the front page. There's a variety of ways that you can start promoting your website on here. Start by creating a profile and seeing what others are doing on the site. Build Karma and check out youtube and google for the latest ways to build traffic using reddit.

MAKE IT EASY TO BUY: One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen on quite a number of various ecommerce websites, is how difficult it can be to buy from them. I’ve seen everything from: little to no customer service, to not taking credit cards, to having the buy links buried deep into the site, to not enough information to know what your getting, to no pictures of what your getting, to no guarantees, or no overnight shipping, to complicated order forms, to too lengthy of an order form, to hidden charges, to complicated shopping cart systems, to too many package options, to too many add-on options, to too lengthy of an overall checkout process, to no confirmation emails…the list goes on and on of things that reduce the amount of sales.

The bottom line is that it’s critical that your order process be very smooth and easy from start to finish. And it should be quick to finish the process. There should be nothing that could cause a potential buyer to hesitate. Don’t give them a reason to not buy. If there is anything in your order process that would cause someone to pause and consider their options for too long, or that would alarm them, or make them reconsider, or confuse them, or anything else that isn’t user friendly then do whatever you have to reinvent your order process to make it 100% user friendly. It should be almost as fast and easy as checking out from a grocery store or buying from a vending machine.

Also, if possible, always have the customer fill out the credit card order form, entering their credit card numbers and so forth first. Then after they’ve made payment have them complete any additional order forms on your site that either is sent to your email or database which let you know the specifics of their order.

I’ve tested the process both ways for lengthy periods of time and it always generates more sales when you have them complete the credit card payment first. Mainly because after finishing payment, even if your main order form is somewhat lengthy they’ll still complete it because they know they’ve already paid. But if they see a lengthy order form and have not yet paid, often people will get intimidated, or reconsider, and back out of the process. So remember to: “keep it simple stupid” and you’ll be guaranteed to generate more sales.

COMPETITIVE SHOPPING: Be sure to keep tabs on your competition as to what they’re doing. You should know month by month or at least quarter-by-quarter what they’re up to. You should be able to know things such as: what are the websites of the major competitors in your field? what lines of products are they carrying that are competitive to yours? at what prices? what promotions they have running? where they’re bidding in the PPC search engines? how much business they’re actually doing? what kind of backend items they sell to there customers? what are they’re key advantages? what are their key disadvantages? what would cause visitors to find your website before finding theirs? what would make your visitors buy from you instead of them? could you do a direct head to head comparison against them and win? if not, what would you need to change? These, and any other critical factors that will keep you as the leader in the marketplace.

You may even try finding a focus group of people each of whom knows nothing about you or your site. Give them a list of websites which will be made up of you and your competitors randomly mixed together. Ask them to review the sites for a specific product that they would tend to buy. After reviewing each of the websites on the list find out in the end who they would have bought from, along with the reasons why. Do that with perhaps 10 people as a way to find out important information and aspects that you might be overlooking.

YOUTUBE GIVEAWAYS: This is similiar to perks. You find some free software. Put it on your website or blog as a free give away as long as they visit your site. Then on your site offer it as a free gift as long as the visitor provides their name and email in your autoresponder form. Then on the next page allow them to download the software and also share with them your mlm opportunity or offer.

VK.COM: This is a European social network that's been gaining a huge following. Start building a following on there if you're able to sell to a european audiance.

SEARCH ENGINES SUBMISSION: Even though the search engine spyder programs are scouring the internet for new sites, and these days you’ll get ranked even if you don’t submit your site, it’s still better to leave nothing to chance. Submit your site to the major search engines which are listed in the previous chapter on “Search Engines”. This will guarantee that your site will be reviewed by the search engine and added into their directory or engine. There are services and software that say they also can do this for you. However, do not leave this to chance on some service or software that might not get the job done. For the top engines submit your site to them yourself at each search engines home page. For the multitudes of smaller search engines using a service or software is the most economical route. You can review these search engine submission tools at:

BRAND NAME: Ever wonder why many of the big companies are all one word? Ie: ebay, yahoo, google, msn, coke, crest, budweiser, and the list goes on and on? The reason simply has to do with developing a fabulous brand name, over just a “good” brand name. Your brand name is the hallmark of your website. Its stands for what you represent and everything you are in the marketplace. It distinguishes you amongst the competition, it make you memorable, and will be a big factor in making your site into a major player online. So definitely take your time in coming up with a 1 or 2 word brand that describes your company well. I talk more about branding in section 1 of this course. It will become a major marketing weapon for you especially once you begin to establish yourself as a premier brand in your industry. So please don’t just wing it. Take your time on this, even hire an expert to help you develop your brand and sub-brands within the main brand which is your company name. Your brand could eventually become a extremely valuable asset that could even long outlive you like many have of their original creators, so choose carefully what you might want to call your site or your product. There are also tons of great books on branding that you may want to review which will help you in coming with a good brand name to use.

COMPETITIVENESS: Right now is your product or service offering more competitive, less competitive or equally competitive than your competition in your market place? If you’re not competitive then chances are strong that you’re not doing well, or won’t be doing well for every long. That’s not how competition works. Competition is something that is constantly evolving. And so should your offer remain, extremely competitive, always being better in some way than the competition. And it doesn’t have just be in terms of price. Just as an example, your strategy might be to price your item really high and say you charge more for a higher class of product or service. Maybe that’s how you’ll be competitive if catering to an upscale market. And if you can’t beat the competition on price try to beat them on some other area of your operation. It could be on anything such as: size, type, model, year, make, guarantees, shipping, bonuses, customer services and more.

PERKS: This is another powerful marketing weapon. Just make sure you’re doing any illegal perks. perks are simply gifts, of one sort or another in exchange for something in return. For example lets say there’s a popular website you come across. They attract a similar audience to their website as your site. But perhaps they simply offer some free service, or public service, or not for profit type of site. Maybe you could brib the owner to give you the top listing on their website links page. That might require a cash payment, or maybe that might require just an equal positioning of their link on your site. The giving of something of value might allow you to get that done. Or maybe attaching a marketing specialty item to be included with your “networker marketers proposal” to a major site you want to do business with is in order. For example a nice desk top calculator, or some other trinket you could include as a free gift tattooed with your company name and web address on it. That kind of a brib would probably at least get your piece of mail opened and read by someone in the company, unlike the rest of the junk mail that’s destined for the trash much of which never even gets opened. So think about how you can use safe, positive and legal perks in your marketing in order to get things done, or get things pushed through.

MLM perks: This is where you offer some incentive to have the user join your downline that likely your competitors might not offer. So maybe you offer to give them 25 fresh new leads of prospects they can call up. Maybe you offer them some marketing software. You offer them a video squeeze page they can use to promote there business online. You offer them some additional perk that others simply are not offering to their prospective downline. This way someone who's planning to join your MLM company might be more likely to join your downline compared to someone else's.

BING.COM: This is the old MSN.com search engine. It's in the top 10 search engines online. Possibly top 5 still. Certainly something to look into in terms of free inclusions, pay per click ads, and other ways to get your site indexed in their engine.

DEVELOPING A MASSIVE KEYWORD LIST: As I outlined in the pervious chapter on Pay Per Click Search Engines, having a massive list of keywords that focus on your direct industry, plus all the industries that are either related or considered “sub-industries”, is a vital part of your PPC strategy. This list will also come in very handy when building additional content pages for your website, as you know what keyword each page needs to be focused around. The larger your keyword list, the more content pages and traffic you’ll be able to develop from it. So try to come up with a list of at least 5,000 keywords. That might sound like a lot but there are programs that can help you to generate those keywords in just minutes. Some of those tools and software I list at:

TOP 100 TRAFFIC EXCHANGE: As you browse the net you most likely have run into these. They are a list of usually100 banners or links on one page. Each banner has been provided by some other company. And each company also has agreed to show that directory’s link on either their website. The sites that provide your banner with the most traffic appear higher in the list of 100. So for example the site giving you the most traffic appears in positions 1 and it goes down from there. There are scripts that have already been created that will allow you to quickly set up a traffic exchange of this nature. Another way to utilize this kind of a “Top 100 Direcotory or Exchange” is to reserve some of the ad space for your main website. So for example you could have the top banner as your main website and or a banner along the side. Each of which will be pointing to your main site. You can find these top 100 exchange scripts at:

OFFER FREE EMAIL ACCOUNTS: This is a powerful strategy that will allow you to get your site out there through the use of viral marketing. You offer the ability for anyone to get his or her own free email account. Everyone loves a free email account and more and more people are not choosing to use the bigger providers as much simply because they are sick of the endless spam received from them. People and are migrating toward smaller providers as a way to alleviate this problem. By providing your own email accounts to people you can advertise them as “Spam Free” which will attract more users.

Now if you’ve ever used hotmail, or yahoo email accounts you should have seen a small text ad which appears discretely at the bottom of each email. The ad currently reads “Start enjoying all the benefits of MSN® Premium right now and get the first two months FREE*.” You will do the same with yours. Except what I’d do is write something more to the effect of: “Tired of getting spam? We’ll your email provider sure doesn’t care! Click here to get your 100% spam-free email account now!”

People who click on that link will have to visit your site and see what you’re offer as they go to sign up for their free email account. The beauty of this advertising method is that it causes a viral effect. Everyone who uses the email service is also advertising your website, and employing more people to get email accounts to advertise your website even more! The effect becomes exponential.

The only challenge to this advertising method is that it works better for sites that offer some type of product or service that has mass appeal. That’s because such a diverse audience will ultimately end up signing up for email accounts. Also you have to end up paying for the email server and bandwidth. To get started it’s really not terribly expensive as you’d simply need to rent a dedicated Linux service which you can do for about $50 per month these days (2005). However, if the volume of email accounts being set up was to hit critical mass, you may find yourself in a challenging situation depending on how many of those mail users are taking notice of your sales offer when they go to log into their email account at your website.

TELL A FRIEND: Set up what’s called a “Tell a Friend” page which allows users to provide you with their friends email addresses. They simply enter their name and email along with their friends name and email address into an online form and click submit. That then links to an autoresponder which emails the friend telling them that their friend “Steve Smith at: steve@aol.com recommended they visit the site: www.yoursite.com”. The other thing you should have this program set up to do is add the person who referred the friend onto your newsletter since you have their name and email. That way you can start sending them some follow up material as well. This strategy can be compounded by using a system by which the visitor has to refer 3 or 5 people in order to get a free gift, or a free ebook, or a free email account, or anything that represents some value.

PAGE GENERATORS: One way to get a higher ranking under numerous keywords with the search engines is to simply have more pages, each of which focuses on a specific keyword. So each page would be keyword rich, focusing on one specific keyword. That way when the search engines spyder bots are searching your site, they’ll see that you have “many pages”. This will not only give your over all site a boost for being a large website, but also they will begin to spyder each individual page of your site and list each of those internal doorway pages (pages under the same URL) under the keyword that the page is focused on. A “Page Generator Program” will instantly help you to set up hundreds even thousands of content pages on your website that target specific keywords. This will save you tremendous time in setting up all these additional pages as compared to doing it yourself by hand. I list some of these page generator programs at: www.prebuiltdownline.com

HASHTAG GENERATORS: One way to create a list of hashtags # fast is just google search for hashtag generator. You'll find the sites that will allow you to rapidly create a list of hashtags that you can add to posts such as on: twitter, instagram and more, where adding hashtags can be important. The main mlm hashtags are: #mlm #networkmarketing #multilevelmarketing #directsales #directselling #mlmtips #mlmsuccess #networkmarketingtips #networkmarketingsuccess #wahm #workfromhome #workathome #homebusiness #business opportunity #makemoney #passiveincome

STAND ON A GIANTS SHOLDERS: One way to easily build credibility and to have people believe in you, to pay attention to you, to like both you and your product, and want to order from you, is simply to surround yourself with giants in your industry. For example here are some ideas on how to accomplish this:Go to a seminar of a major guru in your industry. At the seminar have your picture taken with the guru. Then put the photo on your website, and just say “here’s me with Mr Guru at his seminar”. Don’t lie about it. But the fact alone that you have a photo of you standing, or shaking hands with a leader who’s known throughout the industry will make you all the more credible as your prospect sees you with industry celebrities. And if you can go to multiple seminars of several different gurus and get photos from each and get them all on your site that along ads tons of credibility to you. Because people accredit credibility to you based on the fact that your seen with other experts in the field in real life.

Another method of doing this is simply taking out an ad of some sort in a major magazine. Lets say you have some innovative new course that teaches people how to day trade on the stock market from home, and you sell this course on your website. Now Imagine if you could simply use these few key words on your website “as seen in Fortune Magazine”. What that does is it gives you the credibility of an industry giant “FORTUNE MAGAZINE”. And you can do this with any product you sell. Just match it to the leading magazine in the industry. Then simply decide on how big of an advetorial you want to take out. It could be a tiny classified ad, or if your budget allows, a full page ad. Then you run the ad, just so you can say “as featured in X magazine”. Instantly you get the credibility of that magazine. And if you can take out a full page ad that works even better as then you can also scan the advetorial and also post that one your website as additional proof of your company being talked about in the magazine. You can do the same with major national newspapers, and even television.

These are two simple ways anyone can stand on top of a giants shoulders and really stand out. If you can get a testimonial by offering your product for free to a guru in your industry that’s great too but if you’re unknown, then don’t count on even getting a reply. They’re often too busy and get too many of those offers. The way to work that angle is to try to get to know who “they know” who could talk to them for you and actually “get heard”. See if you can get to know one of their friends who has an audience with the guru, then that’s “your in”, to getting an audience with the guru. But the direct approach can be very challenging depending on who it is and how popular they are. The more popular the less likely they are to endorse you.

There are many ways you could use this concept to give your image a shot of adrenaline and make it look extra big and impressive. However, you must be sure that your product or service is also good enough so that after someone orders you live up to your reputation. Otherwise it could have the opposite effect. If you give yourself one of these giant credibility builders be sure you can offer something that is great too, because what happens is if your product doesn’t live up to the promise and isn’t great people often have a tendency to criticize even more if someone is over-promising and under-delivering. This is one marketing weapon that will make sure you look incredible, so be sure your product is just as incredible so it doesn’t backfire on you.

DEVELOP A MASSIVE WEBSITE: Expanding on the previous idea, based on my study and research, what I’ve found is that if you look at most of the websites that are ranked in the top 10,000 most popular on Alexa.com they have one main thing in common. Each of the top 10,000 sites has tons and tons of pages each. Many of them having over 10,000 pages. So here’s what you can do. You’ll have your main core website perhaps containing anywhere from 1 to 50 pages of customized hand typed content which supports your main product or service sale. Those are hand made pages that you developed such as the: About us, contact us, privacy policy, networker marketers program, products/services, home, etc. Then what you do is you combine your keyword list which should be over 5,000 keywords and combine it with your page generator program to develop a massively large website. These additional pages will all be heavily and prominently links to your index page and to each other. The only thing that you need to keep in mind that this strategy will work well for PPC search engines campaigns. However, for natural listings it’s questionable, as the search engines are constantly changing there algorithms and criteria for indexing web pages. Plus they currently have what’s known as redundancy filters that will exclude certain extra pages of a site. However, again keep in mind that the most popular websites in the world are also the largest in size. So in my opinion it certainly couldn’t hurt to turn your site into a sizable site. Just be sure to use a page generator program and strategy to automatically create all the pages, rather than trying to do it by hand which would waste too much time to accomplish.

DISCUSSION GROUPS: These groups are types of online forums in which visitor can talk about various topics that each group is focused on. Post ads to these discussion groups talking about your website. You can do this in a variety of ways. You don’t want to post just any ad though. You want your ad to be written up in a way that doesn’t anger the other readers, or make the moderators of that discussion group think that your spamming the group. So write up your ad in the form of a news article relating to that industry. Then simply mention your site once in the article as one site that is an authority in that field. The other way to do this is to act as a third person acting as though you don’t own the site but want to see if anyone else has information on it. So you ask the group a question about the site such as: “I’m thinking of using weight loss product X. I’m just wondering if anyone else has used that product at weightlossproduct.com, and if anyone has had success with it?” This is another way to look inconspicuous so people don’t think your trying to use the discussion group for advertising purposes. You can also post messages offering expert advice for free into discussion groups where everyone is seeking out that same advice. Be sure to add your signature file to each post listing your website as the resource they need to get help.

INDUSTRY DIRECTORY: Create a directory website for your industry. Start by posting the names, website addresses and a small description of each site on a list in that directory. That way you’ll have some starting content. Then in future anyone wanting to have their website added can use your reciprocal links form (such as discussed in the previous chapter on “Linking”). They will have to exchange links with you in order to have their website added. So as your directory becomes more popular within the industry more and more websites will begin linking to you in order to get their site listed in the directory. Now what you do is you reserve part of this directory for your own advertising purposes. For example you reserve a place for your banner at the top of the index page of the site. Or you do a write up on the top 10 things anyone looking for an “X” product or service should know (i.e.: The top 10 things you should look for when choosing your next car.) Then at the bottom you could say something like one of the few “X’s” that meets all these criteria is: “You and your site.com”. The main thing is that you will become the major sponsor for this website so anyone visiting the site will easily be able to click on your banner or ad giving you additional free traffic. You can also set up pop up’s on this page advertising your newsletter and or website.

DOORWAY SITE: This is similar to a doorway page. The only difference is that you’re creating an entire website on a separate URL including a variety of pages relating to your product, service, or industry. You will exchange links between your main site and this promotional site. And you’ll simply reserve space on this promotional website to advertise your main site. As search engines begin to index this new site in their engines and directories you’ll benefit from visitors seeing and clicking on your ads on it. Causing visitors to flow through from this second site to your main site.

AUTOMATION: When building your site, as well as performing other business task that can be labor intensive, there’s always a way or program that will automate the process. Whether that be outsourcing the work to someone else overseas to have them work on it each day for you, or finding a program to get it done, the answer to automating the process is there. So whatever the business task, before you spend endless hours doing it yourself manually by hand be sure to check to see if you can automate the process. See if there’s a program, or person that either has experience doing that kind of activity in an economical fashion, and or, find out if there is a program that has been developed that does that task on a massive scale completely automated. By doing this you could easily become 10 to 100 times as productive in developing and promoting your internet business.

NETWORK YOUR WEBSITES: This idea allows you to get higher search engine placement though the use of improving your Links Popularity and your Google Page Rank. Each of your sites will simple exchange links with every other site you own. Have your main sites link displayed on all your other websites’ index pages. And then have your other pages listed on your main site links page. Any new site or domain name you register relating to your industry would also simply join this network.

SPLIT TESTING: This idea is designed to improve the conversion rate of your websites sales presentation or message. What you do is you first need to find out what your current message is averaging for a conversion rate. Once you have those statistics recorded you then make 1 change to your sales letter, re-publish it, and then monitor your statistics to see what change to your conversion rate that change ultimately ended up having on your sales. For example: you add a money back guarantee to your offer, and monitor the change in sales. If it goes up the split test worked and you now have a new sales platform to operate from. If it doesn’t produce the right outcome and the conversation rate drops, then you can consider it a failed attempt and go back to the old version. You keep trying that with specific areas of your sales material, achieving higher and higher conversion rates in the process. Just be sure to only test one change at a time. If you add several changes to a sales letter all at once, you won’t know what new element caused the change in conversation. Split testing is one of the best ways to take all the guess work out of improving your conversation rate.

AD JOURNAL: As you begin to use more and more ads you need to find a journal that you can record all your ads in. You’ll want something that will record things like:

What ad campaigns you currently have running ?
What results your currently getting with each campaign (i.e.: PPC, banner, email)?
What ads you’ve ran, such as: banners buttons, classifieds, PPC listings, links exchange ads etc?
What results you’ve achieved in the past?
How much you’ve spent for advertising in the past?
How much your spending now?
What split tests you’ve done and what were the outcomes?
How long you had campaigns running for?
What changes you’ve made to your ads and why?
What changes you’ve made to the advertising mediums your using and why?

By recording all this data you’ll be able to easily see where you’re ad campaigns have been in the past, where they are now, and what you might need to do to improve their future. It will show you what works and what doesn’t and is an essential key of a good overall advertising department. There are a variety of ad journal software’s available online, or you could just create your own journal using MS Word as long as it all gets written down. To see some of these ad journal tools visit:

THIRD PARTY ENDORSMENTS: Find various other sites that have the same target audience and types of visitor traffic as you do. Many are willing to rent you ad space in their newsletters or even allow you to send a mass mailing to their list. This strategy can be effective but be sure to have them agree to write it up the ad as a third party endorsement. What that means is that the owners of the newsletter would include a paragraph about your site as part of their newsletter. They would blend it into their existing newsletter, mentioning why your site, product, or service is so great and why their audience should visit your site. This could be done as either a small portion of their existing newsletter or by dedicating a full edition of their newsletter to you. Be sure to work closely with them when writing it up. To save on costs you can also make an arrangement with the list owner to simply join your networker marketers program and use that tracking URL in their third party endorsement. That way they get paid only on actually sales made, therefore costing you nothing up front to get the endorsements you need. This strategy is also highly effective when purchasing any type of paid ads such as banners, buttons and text ads. Visitors to one site are far more likely to click on a link that is endorsed by the website owner because there’s already a level of trust that has been established.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS: Strategic partnerships are everywhere you look online. The main form of this is by promoting your networker marketers program. An networker marketers program is basically where other sites will promote you in exchange for a percentage of each sale. However, you can also do various other forms of partnerships. Such as: Exchanging ads between newsletters with another site, exchange banner or text ads with other sites, exchanging access to email lists to promote your products, offering samples of each others merchandise to each others clients. The main thing is that it costs you nothing to create these partnerships and if you create enough of them, you can rapidly drive traffic and sales to your site. Just be sure that the partnership does not detract from your sites sales pitch, such as placing a competitive sites banner right on your index page. That’s what your links page is for.

CHAT ROOM SIGN: Start by creating a doorway URL staring with a number or else the letter “A” (i.e.: www.1freelegaladvice.com). An example of this is done a lot on Tinder. People will plug their businesses on there. So i fyou have a short domain you could put on there it could attract attention

Also find rooms in which you can set up a new account to have your URL match your chat room nickname. So your nick name for the room would be: 1freelegaladvice.com or 1freelegaladvice-com or 1freelegaladvice_com.You want it to start with a 1 or an “A” because often peoples names are listed in alphabetical order so you want to be at the top of the list where everyone can see it.

Be sure to check if the domain name is available with a registrar. Then if it is sign up under the major chat hubs using your matching nickname such as: 1freelegaladvice-com . If that is successful, immediately register the domain name that matches that as you’ll be using it as part of your strategy.

What you can do is log into a high population chat room with your “nickname” being the same as your domain name. If you’re domain name has the right keywords relating to the subject matter being discussed in the chat room then people are bound to visit your site. You could log into several chat rooms simultaneously to compound the effectiveness of this strategy.

KIJIJI: http://www.kijiji.com is another free popular classified ad site that targets major cities across north america. They get tons of traffic and are a great place to post ads about your site.

CHAT ROOM PAID ADS: You can also purchase paid ads in some chat rooms which will allow you to target tons of targeted visitors. You can focus your ads to be shown in specific chat rooms whose visitors are chatting about your industry or topic. Some of these chat ad services are listed at:

CHAT ROOM ROBOT: This is the same as the chat room sign except your taking it to the next level where you have a bot actually post messages that mention your website into each chat room. Read your Free Bonus “Free Traffic Revolution” for more details on how to use this strategy.

CATALOG: In certain industries it could be wise to mail a prospect or client your catalog. Especially if they request it on your site. It could significantly increase regular sales, but it will also keep your company and site in the front of their minds whenever they see the catalog laying around.

SATISFIED CUSTOMERS: Nothing will propagate your site, product, or service, more than simply a satisfied customer. Simply, because it will cause a chain reaction of word of mouth advertising. Friends talk a lot about good products or services that they had the privilege of experiencing. And they talk online as much as in the real world. So take some time to reinvent your product or service, upgrade it, make it bigger better, more advanced versions, more bonuses, with more options and features to really wow your clients! If you’re clients are impressed, they’ll become living breathing advertisements for your website and company.

ASK FOR REFERALS: If you know you’re product is really good, that will automatically place you in a position to ask for referrals from customers. You should have a systematic approach to automatically follow up on clients asking them to give you referrals of friends and family that might also benefit from your product or service. This could be as simple as having all your paid clients added to a follow up autoresponder that follows up on them, and that simply asks them to forward the follow up letter to a handful of friends. Or, it could be as elaborate as buying them a huge thank you gift and mentioning that you’d appreciate if they could contact three of their friends to pass on 3 business cards. You’re approach should be systematic and automatic to ensure you get the maximum amount of referrals from this strategy.

SAMPLES: Another way of generating leads is to offer free samples of your product or service. If you sell a product, you could send them a small sample along with a brochure or catalog for them to experience first hand. If your product is a download then you could offer it as shareware, where they get to use it for a limited time before they have to make the purchase. If it’s a members area, give them access for a limited time, or limited access to your members area. That way they can get the feel of what’s in your members area and how it works before they purchase.

VIRTUAL BIRTHDAY CARDS: When someone subscribes for something at your website, or places an order for your product, you could ask them to submit their birthday along with their name and email. You then subscribe them to an automated e-card service that will email them a fun or thoughtful birthday card. You can usually type in a small greeting of your own. Don’t mention any offer. Just thank them for their business or visits and include your signature file in that greeting so they know who you are and can revisit you.

REAL BIRTHDAY CARDS: Another way to do this though is to just send a physical greeting card out to your best 10 clients and actually sign it yourself. At least that way it looks like you actually took the time to write. It also would be well worth it to add a gift certificate to the card that they can use online at Amazon.com or some other major etailer.

COURSES / LECTURES / SEMINARS / WORKSHOPS: I’ve seen it happen on several occasions where a course or seminar will be offered on some type of subject. Then in the promotional materials as well as part of the lecture they include information about a website and how it’s beneficial to the subject matter. You could easily do the same in your own community. Simply offer your own course, lecture, seminar, or workshop which is a great opportunity to introduce your website to new key prospects. This works great for capturing new leads, recruiting networker marketers, selling products and services, and securing memberships.

MORE ON HIT EXCHANGES: The initial thing you should be looking for is to join some GOOD hit exchange sites. There are thousands of them out there, especially now that a number of people started providing free, or very cheap, scripts allowing pretty much anyone to start up their own traffic exchange site. You want to look for the biggest and the best of them, in order to maximize the returns on your clicks. The smaller sites simply cannot deliver the hits fast enough and when they do, it's often the same person visiting your site over and again. Not good.
How do you pick the best sites? You need to look out for the following:

The size of the membership - bigger the better.
The uniqueness of hits - different people not the same clicker ever time.
The anti-cheat protection - you want real visitors not bots.
Exchange Ratio - at least a 2:1 ratio, 1:1 if possible.
Length of timer - 30 seconds is better than 10 if you want sales.

Those are the most important things. Find a big, popular traffic exchange with good anti-cheat protection, a 30 second timer and a 1:1 exchange ratio and you are onto a winner. Unfortunately those are few and far between, however, I’ve listed some of the better ones at:

PRESS RELEASE: Write a press release with news worthy information relating to your site, product, service, or industry. Submit the press release to a newswire where it will have a chance of being picked up by various news agencies around the world. Possibly turning your website into an overnight success which has happened in the past to numerous other sites. See the prior chapter on getting the word out to the press.

PUBLICITY STUNT: A publicity stunt is a planned event designed to attract the public's attention to the promoters or their causes. Publicity stunts can be professionally organized or set up by amateurs. Be sure to let the press know about the publicity stunt you plan to hold. And be sure to integrate your website into the publicity stunt. Here’s just one example where Stan Heimowitz, owner of Celebrity Gems in Castro Valley, California, successfully dramatized in the streets of San Francisco the fact that IntraLinux, a small software company -- Heimowitz's client -- was challenging Microsoft, the industry giant. Outside the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where Microsoft was launching its latest operating system, a Bill Gates look-alike was matched against a Penguin (IntraLinux's mascot) in a boxing ring whose four corners were held up by Penguinettes. The Penguin “pinned Gates to the mat”, naturally, while a plane towing a banner that read "IntraLinux" flew overhead. This creative bit of street theater made its point to onlookers and the media alike.

LOGO: Develop a distinctive logo. This is so important! A distinctive logo will reinforce the branding of your site. You see this all the time with the large internet corporations such as EBay, Yahoo, and AOL. It will also help to distinguish you from your competitors. Be sure that your logo is unique enough as not to be considered in violation to anyone else’s trademarks. You could try creating one yourself or for best results spend some money on hiring a pro. There are lots of logo design companies online. But trust me when I say be willing to find a designer who will guarantee you results, and would be willing to redo it to your satisfaction. You might pay a little more for that but that’s find if they can come up with a smashing logo that gives your company that unique edge your seeking. See for a few logo designers that I’ve hand picked.

OUTSOURCING / HIRING: If you need to hire anyone, whether in-house or sub-contractual, be sure that you’re hiring experienced people that will become great “assets” to your company. Hiring the wrong people is the cause of so many business failures. The wrong people will drain all your resources, as you’ll be paying you’re hard earned money to actually employ a “real life problem” rather than hiring someone who can be a great contributor. Often training is involved in most positions, however, if the person you’re hiring can’t honestly show you how to perform a job even better than you know how to do it, then chances are you’re hiring the wrong person. Real experts should know how to accomplish their specialization - faster, cheaper, or better than you. They also should have a significant history in doing the type of work you want. They should also be educated in doing that work. If they aren’t, never ever settle to train someone. Ask to see their portfolio of work, and ask them what books they’ve read on the subject recently. If they can’t provide either then keep looking. Find someone who already has experience, and who can actually train you in that specialization. And as a rule of thumb never ever under any circumstances hire a friend or family member to do the work. Because if things go really bad, you could lose a best friend. Hiring the right people can significantly contribute to the growth of your company so be sure to hire the best you can afford to maximize your productivity.

SLOGAN: Develop a strong slogan. A slogan will create powerful brand recognition. Your slogan should be a short sentence telling what you do and telling it in a unique way.

“Reach out and touch someone” of AT&T, or
“It's everywhere you want to be.” of Visa

are just a few of the corporate slogans you’ve most likely heard of. You can get more examples of slogans and learn more about creating your own by visiting: http://www.adslogans.co.uk

KEYWORD RICH TITLES: Each page of your website will need a title. The title is a line that is added into the <head> section of your html code. Most user-friendly website design programs have it as simply a form field in which you’d enter the title. See your programs help file for details on where to input your title. The title on each page needs to use the main keywords that people will search for to find your site in the search engines. So if your main keyword people search for is: “Australia Travel”, then those need to be used in your website title. This will allow you to get higher ranking when you’re site gets spydered by the search engines.

META TAGS: “Description Tag”: The Meta Description tag is used by many search engines to provide a short description of the page that is listed in the search results. Hence, like the Title tag, it is important that the Meta Description tag be keyword rich as well as attractive to humans. The rules for the Meta Description are more or less the same as those for the Title tag. However, the content of this tag will generally be longer than that of the Title. Here's what I may have used in the Meta Description tag: “Travel to Australia – We take care of all the details of your trip so that you can travel with complete peace of mind.” Note how this description repeats the keyword and also the benefit that it stresses - it says that the customer will be able to travel without having to worry about the intricate details of the trip – you will take care of them. “Meta Keywords Tag”: The Meta Keywords tag has become less and less important as far as search engine optimization is concerned. In fact, you can get top rankings without having anything in the Meta Keywords tag at all. However, just to be on the safe side, you would want to include some keywords in the Meta Keywords tag. You should also include some of the common upper/lower case variations of the keyword. The rules for the Meta Keywords tag are pretty simple - don't repeat any keyword in the Meta Keywords tag more than three times and don't repeat any keyword one after the other. Here's what I may have used in the Meta Keywords tag: “Travel to Australia, tourism, travel to Australia, Down Under, TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA” Note how I have introduced “tourism” and ”Down Under” just to separate the different instances of the keyword.

REPLACE FILE NOT FOUND: Replace your “file not found” hosting default to direct to your site with instruction on how to find the page they’re looking for.
The common default error message displayed by your host will cause visitors to leave your site:
File Not found
The requested URL /someone/mistyped/a/link.html was not found on this server.
But if you simply modify it to say something such as the following, they will be able to find what they’re looking for and not immediately leave your site:
Oops! You've found a bad link! Please consider starting from our top page
and working down to the page you were looking for.

Check with your hosting provider for a detailed description how to make this change, which you will do in your hosting administrative area.

MARKETING YOUR NEWSLETTER: When you build your website, as one of your modules you’ll have a newsletter or ezine that you’ll offer. Instead of just having people signing up for your newsletter at your website, you can also register your newsletter (ezine) at other sites. There are more and more ezine directories popping up online that you can begin to advertise in for free. People who are interested in your subject matter will begin subscribing for your newsletter by finding it in these ezine directories. To see a list of ezine directories that you can begin to advertise your newsletter with visit:

AUDIOZINE: Another emerging trend are called audiozines. They’re basically just ebooks or ezines but in audio format so that you can listen to them. Another way to promote your newsletter, in audiozine format. You can also begin listing them in directories that carry these audiozines. It’s perfect for the audible subscribers who would prefer to listen to your information rather than have to read it. Also because it’s more effortless to listen to something, you can make your audio presentation typically much longer than you could a written ezine.

SELL ON EBAY: Last time I checked (April/05) EBay was ranked to be the eighth largest site on the net. That means they get “tons of traffic”. Any site that’s getting tons of traffic like this is where you want your site to found. Some of my associates report that they get an extra 30 to 60 visitors per day to their website just by being an eBay seller. Take advantage of the “Description” and “About Me” sections to publish links leading to your website address. This strategy can be used in combination with other strategies or with the right product can be the focus of your marketing effort. Also consider selling on other popular online auction sites.

VIRTUAL POST CARDS: Basically another spin on the tell a friend module. Virtual post cards are similar to the virtual greeting card only that the theme is different. A post card can be just about anything these days. The main element it needs though is a vivid picture of something, possibly even relating to your industry. Then it should also offer the user the opportunity to add some information of their own along with a recipients email address that the VPC will be sent to. This module ties in well with anything relating to the travel and tourism industry but could be used on virtually any kind of site. Just be sure the VPC that’s sent makes reference to, and links back to your website, as well as offers the recipient the chance to send out their own VPC’s at your website. Such as: “To send a virtual post card to a friend click here”, and or, you could include a tiny advertisement about your sites main product or service.

SELL ON AMAZON: Last time I checked (April/05) it was ranked to be the twelfth largest site on the net. That means they also get “tons of traffic”. Any site that’s getting that kind of ranking and traffic is where you want your site to be found. They are starting to open more and more opportunities to allow the general population to also sell things (similar to eBay). They’re mainly focusing on informational products in the categories of: written, audio, software, and video materials. So you’re product will need to fall into these categories to be able to sell them on Amazon. However, chances are strong that they’ll end up offering visitors their own online storefront so keep an eye out for this development. This strategy can be used in combination with other strategies, or with the right product can be the focus of your marketing effort. Also consider selling on other popular online bookstore websites that offer “seller accounts” or “virtual store fronts”.

AMAZON EXCERPT: If you decide to sell a book of any sort and you begin to sell it on Amazon, you can add an excerpt from one of the pages of the book. What you’d do is simply find a page in which you’ve strategically made an ad in your book to advertise your site. Then what you do is you use that excerpt page and section to accompany your Amazon book ad. So that way when people are looking for books under the topic yours is listed under, they’ll see your website address appear as part of the excerpt that you’ve strategically added to your book for the sole purpose of exploiting this feature that is available to Amazon book sellers. With all that traffic seeing your website address chances are strong that the right excerpt will draw visitor to your website.

BUILD YOUR OWN ADVERTISING SOFTWARE: Lets say that you want to do some kind of routine advertising. It could be just about anything, so for example one person had asked me if there was a software designed to automatically post to Craigslist.org . I wasn’t sure if there was one out there. But lets say that’s what you wanted to build, as you got tired of posting to that site by hand. All you’d have to do is go to any one of the many freelance programmer sites where you can hire a programmer from overseas at an ultra affordable price. You lay out exactly what you need the program to do for you, detailing all the specific functionality you want from this program. And then you simply hire a programmer to have it made. This could be done for any type of routine advertising that you would like to try and automate. So if you find that there’s some form of advertising that you do manually by hand, or there’s a specific site you frequent to place ads at, or any other type of routine advertising, then you could have the software built for you in order to automate that advertising process. The reason this is important is that you don’t want to start wasting countless hours doing some routine advertising by hand. You want to find a way, either outsourcing or creating a program, that will do it for you to save you time and energy. So if you have to lay out a few hundred bucks to have it built, in order to save you “countless hours” and also making your work far more productive, then it’s usually always worth doing. To see some of these places where you can post your project for free to attract programmers visit:

DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS: Lots of people focus on getting traffic when they think of selling their products or services. So they perhaps spend time exchanging links with other sites, each of which might only generate them 1 new visitor per day. Instead of focusing on these small increases in traffic, why not first focus on the major “Distribution Networks”. You got to think to yourself: “where can I list my product that already is getting thousand, even millions of daily visitors?” These major distribution networks would include:The major pay per click search engines
Major online auction sites

Major networker marketers that already have tons of targeted traffic
Possibly even major offline mediums such as newspapers or magazinesSome already have plug and play programs in which you can instantly list your ad or your item for sale. Others you might have to strike up strategic partnerships, such as finding networker marketers. However, by focusing your energy first on the “major distribution networks”, that can instant give you at least 100 new daily visitors per partnership, then all you need is 10 of these to already be getting at least 1000 unique daily visitors - putting you into business immediately. Compare that to trying to hammer out the odd reciprocal link exchange that might give you 1 new daily visitor per exchange.

ADVERTISING BUDGET: This will allow you to grow at a much more rapid pace. Paid visitors are often a high quality form of traffic. For example, they are received from targeted keywords with the major PPC search engines. Before you can begin experimenting with paid advertising, you need to know how much you can afford to spend on each new visitor to your site. And that means you need to understand the value of your visitor. This is easily done by learning how to calculate the value of a visitor to your site. Once you know how to do that, you'll be able to figure out how much you can afford to spend on advertising without draining your wallet. For example: if your net profit per sale is $40.80 and your conversion rate is 1 sale out of every 125 visitors, then your equation will look like this: $40.80 net profit per sale divided by a 125 conversion rate, which equals $0.32 visitor value. Now that you have an average per click value you can use that amount to determine what the ROI is with various forms of advertising. So if you’re spending $0.10 per click, on average you should realize a net profit of $0.22 cents after advertising (.32-.10=.22). There are endless resources on the net that will show you how to create your advertising budget. Also use our advertising budget tools at:

CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Offer a course on your specific industry, field, or specialization. When they complete the course, if they graduate, they will receive an official unaccredited degree from your continuing education program. People love this as it gives them a chance to learn something new which they can also add to their resume. You could even send them a official looking certificate which will include your website address somewhere in the fine print mentioning your online continuing education program. Doing that will add a viral element to the program.

PPC SEO: If you’re thinking about advertising in the pay per click search engines like overture.com or google ad words, here’s something to keep in mind. Lets say you’re in a competitive industry and people are bidding way out of your ball park. Don’t worry, bid the “minimum bid” under all your keywords anyway. You might not get clicked on very much. But that’s okay because you still get two advantages. First you get free SEO (search engine optimization). What happens is your ad still gets served up on thousands and thousands of sites all across the net. You might not get clicked on much but the major engines will rank your organic (naturally indexed searches) listing higher because of the fact that you’re website link shows up on so many sites that are giving one way links to your site. For you beginners that might not make much sense but just know that you’re popular in the eyes of the major engines giving your regular listings a higher rank. The other advantage is that if you get clicked on, which you still will, you only pay the “minimum bid” which chances are you can afford to do. So if you think you can’t compete in the PPC’s, think again.

REQUEST LINKS: Search engines will give you a higher ranking if you have other sites that link to you. Many visitors who come to your website may be willing to give you a free link on their website. You will also incorporate a “Links Exchange” page to your website where you will exchange links with other sites, that is another links strategy that we will get into. This one you will create a section of your site, or place an ad in your newsletter offering to allow other sites to link to you if they wish. If you’re site has valuable content many sites will add you to their sites, and resources pages without even requesting that you give them a link a in exchange. So ask your visitors to link to you, providing the html code they need to do so.

WRITE CONTENT ARTICLES: Write content articles for other websites. Start by creating 20 or so articles relating to your specific product, service or industry. An example of one article might be: “Improve Your Sleep Quality By 50%” or “10 Holistic Ways To Getting A Better Nights Sleep”. Then what you do is create an autoresponder and add each article, spacing them out to be sent every 2 weeks or every month to the recipients. Next you create a list of larger websites that commonly accept articles for submission. Find their email addresses where they accept articles to and add them to your autoresponder. That way each of these large websites that are seeking articles or content will receive a new article from you every 2 to 4 weeks. Some will use your article. The trick to writing your article is to make it information rich and light on advertising. Just be sure to mention your website at least once. A good place is in your signature file at the bottom.

OFFER YOUR CONTENT FOR REPUBLISHING: Decide on which article, interviews, and content of your website you’d want to make available for other website owners to republish. At the end of each piece of content add your name and website address as a signature. Then mention, “this article is available for republishing”. And you can link that to a page of your site that shows a list of all the pages, articles etc that you have for republishing in case they want republish other items you have. Mention that the articles are copyrighted and that they must appear with the authors name and website to be used. Then also provide the html code that they can simply copy and paste in order to easily republish you. This is a great viral strategy. Another optional strategy for this is to ask them to sign up for the right to republish your information. That way you can not only capture a new lead, but you can track who’s republishing your materials to ensure they are using them in their entirety with your signature file and for quality purposes.

SEARCH FOR “ADD A URL”: Do a search in each major search engine for the keyword phrase “Add a URL” or “submit your site”. What you’ll come up with in your search is thousands of sites that allow you to submit your website address for listing in their directories, classifieds, links pages and search engines. Begin to visit each of the sites that appear and enter your site information.

DOORWAY PAGES: First off, let's answer the obvious questions, what are they, and why do you want to build them? Doorway pages are single-page websites that link to one or more other sites. Brief enough to be effective at transferring traffic to its final destination, but informative enough to gain search engine positioning. Doorway pages can be internal or external. So if they are pages created in subfolders on your main domain name then they’re internal. If you go buy a new domain name specifically for the purpose of building it into a doorway page or site, that would be an external doorway page. To create a doorway page you can either build one and add it under your existing website address or under a new website address that relates to your site. The content of each doorway page should focus on a specific keyword you want to gain search engine ranking with. Build at least 20 doorway pages, each of which will focus on one of your most popular industry keywords. So it should mention that keyword often in the content, title, meta tags, and the file name of the doorway. Building a doorway page is easy but building it just perfect so that it gets search engine ranking is another ball park. You can buy software that will aid you in building effective doorway pages that actually will have a chance at getting search engine ranking. There are also companies that offer to build them for you. You can review these supporting resources on “doorway pages” at:

NEWSLETTER ADS: You can buy ads in email newsletters and ezines. Some webmasters who write these newsletters have large followings and you can get buy ad space from them at bargain basement prices. Have the person who writes the newsletter recommend you in the newsletter to build credibility. You can find newsletters that relate to your industry by searching the ezine directories. Some of these ezine directories are listed at: . You can also approach these ezine owners to form strategic alliances in which you’d have them join your networker marketers program and then send out the ad in their next newsletter linking the ad to the newsletter owners networker marketers tracking URL. That way the owner of the ezine/newsletter will share in the profits from any sales generated. And if they make some real money from you they’ll most likely keep advertising you in each edition of their newsletter/ezine.

ADD A “WHAT’S NEW” PAGE: Add a page to your site that lists anything new and interesting. Place a date beside any new content, downloads, links, http://www.icxpresidents.com/images, or items visitors might find useful or interesting. This will help to generate stickiness to your website as visitors will start to get into the habit of quickly visiting your “What’s New” or “Updates” page. This is especially useful for sites that need to stay current with changing events in their industry on a more frequent basis, such as stock market sites, or sports score sites.

networker marketers DIRECTORY ADS: Place ads for your networker marketers program in networker marketers directories. As you do some searching you’ll find many of these “networker marketers directories”. See what other people are writing about their programs and try to include some of the same “networker marketers lingo” in your ad, such as: what the percentage payout is, as well as what the equates to in actual dollars. If your program is 2-tier mention that as well. People who are seeking to join networker marketers programs frequent these networker marketers directories and will find your ad. To see a list of these networker marketers directories visit:

PLACE PRODUCT ADS IN networker marketers DIRECTORIES: Place ads for your product in networker marketers directories covertly. Taking the previous idea to the next level what you do is when you place your ad simply talk more about your product or service. That way the networker marketers directory ad now becomes actually a product/service ad. Since the people are already searching under specific industries you know they will have an interest in your products or services so why not advertise to them as well. When using this strategy just be sure to mention enough about your networker marketers program as well so that it will be accepted by the directory as sometimes they review the ads placed.

TESTIMONIAL ADS: Find all the sites that are similar to yours and that rank high in the search engines under the keywords you want to be under. Find out which of them have “testimonials” pages which also show the website address of the person giving the testimonial. Email those websites that have the testimonial pages and tell them that you’ll be willing to sample their product or service, and if you like it you’ll give them a glowing testimonial in exchange. Some might agree to this. If they don’t agree and you still want to try to get a testimonial listed on their site, tell them that you’ll purchase they’re product if they’ll have your testimonial appear with your name and website address. Make sure they allow you to add your website address or it won't be that useful otherwise. That will give you free traffic, and often these kinds of testimonial ads can last for years on a website without being changed or removed.

BETA RELEASE TO FORUMS: One effective strategy I came up with is to do a “Beta Release” to forums, blogs, and newsgroups. If you’re offering something new that you need immediate feedback on this is one way to get it. Offering a beta release might even translate into sales of other products or services you own as well as, new member, referrals, and networker marketers. However, I don’t suggest you use this strategy to try and fool anyone into thinking they’re getting a free beta release of something only to find that you’re trying to actually sell them something. That will only ruin your image. Instead, the compensation you’re trying to gain by giving away a free beta release will be testimonials, reviews, and feedback from these test subjects. Those testimonials will be a valuable addition to your site.

SPREAD YOUR PAGES OUT: Sometimes people mistakenly group too much information all on one page which loses it’s effectiveness in gaining search engine rankings. Instead, if you have articles, interviews, and information on different subjects then create a separate web page for each topic. Create the website titles and add keywords and meta tags that will relate to the keyword you want that page to come up in under the search engines. By having your pages spread out on specific topics they will be more likely to be indexed by the search engines. They will also be easier for visitors to find the information they’re looking for.

POST TO FFA PAGES: FFA stands for "free-for-all". In Internet marketing, FFA pages were very popular several years ago. They are pages that you, as a web site owner, can visit and add a link to your site free, in a category of your choice. Almost like a links directory. Times have changed and although this is still one method I wouldn’t waste a lot of time with it unless your using a reputable automated FFA ad posting service. The truth is that these pages rarely get visited by humans anymore because they are bogged down with so many advertising links. Try it, but don’t waste a lot of time or money on it.ANNOUNCE YOUR WEBSITE: There are a variety of announcement services that announce and promote new websites. There are also newsletter announcement services that will announce your site to their newsletter subscribers. You can also announce your website to newsgroups, just be sure to label your subject header “new website announcement”. To find more of these announcement services visit:

WEB RINGS: Webring.org created the original “web ring” website plug-in. A web ring is a group of voluntarily interlinked web sites whose owners registered with the organization. Users can choose from a variety of industry focused webrings which they can join. The webring is suppose to generate new traffic to your site. However, webrings on your index page simply will not look good, and will make you look like a small basement operation and amateurish, so be careful of the impact it might have on your credibility. Perhaps better used on your links page or other pages than your sales page. The other way is if you could literally manipulate the code so that it’s not so blatantly obvious to your viewers that your part of a web ring. There are also various other web rings that have emerged which you might want to join.

BANNER EXCHANGE PROGRAMS: Programs in which a company shows a rotating banner ad on its site for other members of the exchange, in return for its banner ad being shown on theirs. Different banner exchange programs offer different exchange ratios as well. For example you get 2 people visiting your site. Each time a different banner ad is displayed. Now that you’ve shown 2 banners, your banner will then appear on someone else’s banner exchange once. That’s known as a 2:1 exchange. The ratios vary from company to company. I suggest adding a bunch of banner exchanges to your links page. That way you’ll get many banner impressions showing up on the page that will least effect your sale, as people generally expect banners to show up on a websites links page. Never put a banner on your main page, unless the purpose of the site is to steer traffic to another site. It will serious detract from not only your company image but from the sales as well. To see some incredible banner exchanges, which are the best available online, and will give you tons of new traffic visit:

BLOGS: In simple terms, a “Blog” is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Visitors have the option to comment on it, or link to it, or email you depending on what settings you choose when setting up your blog. Blogs have really grown in popularity because it gives the average person who doesn’t know htlm their own user friendly web page. You can create a blog that acts as a doorway page and online forum wrapped into one. Just be sure it provides valuable content on your industry and then lists your website address as one main resource. You can also post messages to other people who own blogs within your industry, making sure to list your site in the signature file of each post you make. Each blog is also achieved in a massive directory so that other people visiting the blog directory will find it. Some of the more popular blog directories are listed at

RISK REVERSAL: Simply explained, the more you can reduce the inherent risks that a customer feels they’re taking when ordering your product or service, the more likely they are to buy from you. If you can structure your offer in a way where your prospective buyer feels that any inherent risks of placing the order have been reduced to a minimum then your sales will go up dramatically. If you sell a product then you need to offer a money back guarantee no matter what. If you offer a service in which it might be challenging to offer a money back guarantee, then try to offer a “Satisfaction Guarantee”, where if the client isn’t happy with the end result you’ll redo it for them (that’s assuming they’ve already paid for it). By employing risk reversal you take on all the risk and leave you customers feeling like they have little to no risk at all. As long as your product or service is even of standard or average quality for your industry you should get very little returns and if your product truly is great, then you’ll probably get even far fewer. This theory is economically sounds because what tends to happens is by offering the money back guarantee you’re monthly sales volume could as much as double, however, lets say that your product is “just average” so we’ll say in the worst case scenario your product returns were to triple. If your product sells at $100 then consider this:
Before moneyback guarantee: 10 x $1000 = $1000 per day – 1 return = $900 : As you can see less people may be ordering because they’re concerned about the inherent risks.
After moneyback guarantee: 20 x $2000 = $2000 per day – 3 return = $1700 : Now after offering the money back guarantee, fears are reduced causing sales to skyrocket. However, even if returns of the product ended up tripling you’d still make more money.
The money back guarantee is one of the most valuable features you can add to any offering period! So I urge you to at least test it out. Remember you can always change your offer back in the event that you encounter problems with offering this kind of guarantee. You have to keep trying new ideas that’s the way to grow your website, so be sure to try this one if you aren’t already doing it.

CREDIBILITY: There’s a million and one different credibility builders that you can employ on your website. The more you can build up your credibility the more likely someone is to buy from you. Credibility building devices such as: testimonials, credentials, proof, sample of your jobs/work, statements, documentation, facts, visuals, audio presentations, guarantees and more are all devices you can use to increase your credibility. If you can come across as credible enough at least you’ll know that people aren’t choosing not to buy from you based on that area of your presentation. And if your credibility is strong your chances of gaining the sale or at least a new lead will greatly increase.

MLM SUPER SUMMIT: Once you’ve grown a large networker marketers program, even of at least 50 key networker marketers, you might want to consider holding an annual networker marketers retreat or summit. You could set it up to be an item you’re selling to networker marketers, and if enough tickets are purchased you go ahead and hold the event. All you’d have to do is choose a city that the tourism industry has a high focus on, in which airfare and accommodations are generally very affordable (i.e.: Las Vegas). Then what you do is you rent a conference room where you can hold the event. Each networker marketers should get some kind of additional course or training that they can take home with them to use. There should also be a live presentation. If you’re not a good public speaker that’s okay, you could either get one of your key networker marketers who can do public speaking to take on the role, or you could hire someone who is an experienced public speaker to do the role, just be sure to have them sign up for the networker marketers program prior to speaking so that they can say that they are infact an networker marketers, to relate to the crowd. Allow networker marketers to bring up to one or two friends for free as they might also join your program after hearing the training and presentation. This is a great opportunity to supercharge your team, meet new people, find new networker marketers, and make some additional profit. Then what you can also do is video tape the entire event. That way you can sell that presentation on your website as sales training material, and you can use it as promotional material for the next super summit. By the time your networker marketers go home they’ll eagerly begin to work on promoting the program using the strategies they’ve learned from the presentation.

MLM RETREAT: Another thing you can also do is a retreat, or bash, where you bring all your networker marketers together such as in the previous example, except you just make it a fun event weekend. If you’re networker marketers did lots of business and you can afford it, you can let you imagination run wild as to what activities you schedule for the retreat. If you shop around often all kinds of popular resorts offer group packages. Also pick a popular destination that which will make it more affordable both for you and for the airfare of your networker marketers. Often it will have the same recharging effectiveness as networker marketers will be able to discuss strategies with other networker marketers. You’ll be able to get to know the group. Another great way to supercharge the team.

PAY PAL SHOPS: If you have an eBay Store (even a basic level subscription, like mine) and use PayPal, you can set up a PayPal Shop at no cost. Your eBay Store can then be listed in a regional, category-based directory along with other sellers who accept PayPal payments. Setting up a PayPal Shop takes minutes. You can also set up a PayPal Shop if you have a Web site or storefront that accepts PayPal. In order to be listed in the Shop directory, you must have a PayPal Verified Premier or Business Account; must maintain a registered credit card with your PayPal account; and you must have opened a PayPal Money Market Fund account. To read the entire user agreement, go to http://www.paypal.com . Data is also provided on the number of PayPal Shops, which now exceeds 45,000. PayPal Shopkeepers are eligible for "Featured Shop" consideration. These are the PayPal Shops that display when logging off PayPal, from the "PayPal Shops" link on the home page, and the "Shops" link in the footer of all PayPal pages. Featured Shops are chosen on the basis of their quality, integration of PayPal, and written application. The application requires a short Web site description along with justification for becoming a Featured Shop. There is no charge to become a Featured Shop! This is an opportunity to get your Shop exposed to over 30 million PayPal members worldwide. If you use PayPal, have a Web site or eBay Store and meet the user agreement requirements, PayPal Stores can be great marketing tool for your business.

PURCHASE BANNER ADS: There are many services that sell banner ads, however, depending on where your banner is shown the quality of the viewers can vary. A better way to find quality banner impression advertising is to do a search for keywords that relate to your product or service. Visit the top sites under those keywords and different search engines. See which ones might either already sell banner space, or that might be willing to take you up on an advertising offer or exchange.

START PAGE EXCHANGES: Upon sign up these exchanges ask you to change the start page of your browser. The exchange then begins to cause new pages to show up each time you open your browser. In exchange “your website” is displayed on another members browser start page. The ratio varies depending on the exchange. Some exchanges give you 1:1 and others are 2:1 there are other ratios but these are the most popular. There are hundreds of these exchanges out there and new ones are emerging every day. You also get free credits for signing other people up. To see a list of the best and most reputable start page exchange programs available visit:

VIRAL MARKETING: Is any advertising that propagates itself. Basically, in other words it can spread like a bad flu! Word of mouth advertising often carries the news about a website extremely fast. Press releases are another area that often can create a media feeding frenzy. However, you don’t have to cross your fingers and hope word of mouth spreads about your website. You can engineer your own viral marketing strategies such as are discusses in the prior chapter on Viral Marketing. Viral marketing can be a powerfully effective way to grow a business since it utilizes the law of “other peoples time, money, and energy” allowing others to help in the process of growing your enterprise.

RSS FEEDS: It stands for one of the following standards: * Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.9x)* Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.x)* RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0) What it allows you to do is tap into other sites content. For example, you can add a news feed to your website from a popular news syndicate. Or you can add a products feed, for example, from a site such as Amazon.com . Or could you list Google ads, using “Google ad sense”. Each of these are a way to either ad instant content to your site, which will improve your search engine rankings. And you can even make additional revenue from some of these feeds based on networker marketers programs that some of them offer.

VIRAL EMAIL SERVICE: By offering free email at your site visitors can sign up to get free web mail accounts. You would simply set it up to be likely hotmail where anyone using your service would see a mini ad at the bottom of each email sent saying something to the effect of: “Click here to get your free email account.” You could even add to that a little more information such as “The webs number 1 resource for skin and beauty treatments is now giving away free email, click here to get yours now.” So the person reading that might go to your site for the free email, or they might go to check out your line of skin care products. In any case, each person signing up and using your email service is spreading the news about your site with every email they send off. That’s just one way to use viral marketing. See the chapter on Viral Marketing for more ideas.

STAND OUT: Whenever you take out a link online in some kind of directory where it’s being placed with a number of other ads be sure you do something to make your ad stand out. For example if you’re placing a link on someone’s links page don’t just have another short text ad that will blend right in.
-------->>>>>>>>>DO SOMETHING<<<<<<<<<<<<<-------------- ######################### ANYTHING ####################
@@@@@@@@@ WITH YOUR AD TO MAKE IT @@@@@@@@
*************STAND OUT************** It could be anything at all that will catch the reader eye, and not have your ad blend in as normal text along with all the other ads. That way people will notice your ad and click on your link. The same goes for any sort of text ad such as classifieds, forum posts, etc. The being said the same goes for banner ads. Don’t have just another boring old banner that doesn’t stand out. Do something totally original that will get your banner noticed. For example this might sound crazy but try something like make your banner and then flip it upside down. So when you submit it to any kind of top 100 exchange or banner exchange your banner will appear upside down. That’s something people “will look at” and if they look at it they might click on it. You could do a variation of that where it’s upside down and then the animation flips right side up after a few seconds. Just think outside the box so that your banner stands out. Also see the section on banner advertising as I reveal a variety of ways to make a unique banner that will get attention.

INTERNET SEARCHES: The amazing thing I find about the internet is how many traffic generating strategies are out there. Just by searching the internet you’ll find all kinds of niche sites, articles and ideas on how to generate more traffic. You want to find those niche traffic ideas that very few know about. The reason is that the main streams of traffic are where most of the competition is. Some industries you can still compete in; others, it can be difficult when your competing along side ten thousand other companies that also want to get their site at the top of the Google and yahoo. But the more you search for new strategies the more niche ideas you’ll discover. Begin to compile a database of these niche traffic strategies which you can exploit. Do key word searches: Such as: traffic ideas, traffic generating, getting traffic to find these sites and articles on the latest cutting edge strategies. And there’s always new strategies that are emerging which gives you an endless source of ideas to promote your site.

OBSERVATION: Anytime you’re online start to observe where ads, links, banner, buttons, pop ups, logos, and more are showing up. Create a file in your internet browsers favorites folder. Then anytime you happen to be browsing the net make it a habit to bookmark any site that you notice a unique ad, or specific area of a site that you would also be interested in getting your ads displayed on. Then ever so often go through those bookmarks. This will allow you to find not only new places that you could be advertising, but also new and interesting ads. You can begin to mimic both the places that you’re finding ads popping up, as well as the unique styles, catch phrases, and ideas that others are already having success with. Mimic them and use them in your own industry. By getting into this habit of simply observing ads as you browse the net you’ll always find new places to advertise in, and you’ll always be coming across interesting and effective ad strategies to help make your own ads more interesting and effective.

NEWSPAPERS: Once you get your site established and making money you might want to test newspaper classifieds or display ads. Do a pilot project for this where you’ll take out a tiny classified ad under the category that best targets the visitors you want. Include your website address as well as a phone number linking to a voice mail recording. The voice mail will give a 2 minute recorded message about what you have to offer. Create some urgency in the message for the listener to visit your website by offering some free prize, free giveaway, or limited time offer. To track your visitors you should register a different website address which you’ll use as a doorway page leading to your main site. You’ll attach a traffic tracker to that doorway page so that you can determine how many visitors are coming in as a result of running your classified ad. By this time you’ll know already how much each visitor is worth to your site, so you’ll be able to determine if the ad generated enough traffic to justify continuing with it or not. In other words if the ad doesn’t generate enough traffic to make back a net profit of at least double what you paid for the ad, then you either need to change the ad or discontinue that ad. There are tons of books written on how to create and place effective classified ads. Read them to get familiar with how to write an effective classified ad. This strategy can be highly effective because if it works in a few newspapers, you can then start to roll out your classified ad campaign into hundreds even thousands, of newspapers across the country.

TELEVISION COMMERCIALS: This is another way to advertise offline. By now you’ve seen many other sites advertising on television and so can you. Once you’re site is established and you want to start to expand on a larger scale you can create a commercial for your site and begin to broadcast it. The air time is actually not even as expensive as most people think. You can even test the TV commercial by first running it on your website. Have visitors vote on it or provide feedback on it. That way you can make a more informed decision of whether you have the right commercial ready to go live, or if you need to go back to the story boards. Again link this to a doorway page or mock site that will lead the visitor to your main site so that you can track the amount of traffic it generates and determine what return on investment the commercials produce.

INFOMERCIALS / HOME SHOPPING: Infomercials are taking your TV commercials to the next level. They often run as long as a typical television program (roughly thirty minutes or an hour). Infomercials, also known as paid programming, are normally shown outside of peak hours, such as late at night or early in the morning. This strategy will allow you to instantly show your product or service to the world. You might even consider creating a proposal for home shopping networks that could provide the customer base and distribution network for selling you items.

COMMUNITY ACCESS CHANNELS: Most cable TV systems set aside a cannel for community and non-profit groups to broadcast local events, feature stories, and government meetings. Many of these community access channels offer sponsorship programs, where for a small fee you can become a sponsor of the channel. The channel will then provide advertising in the form of commercials, community updates, logos and tag line postings and more. It’s an inexpensive way to get air time and a great place to advertise your website.

LINK EXCHANGE GOLD MINES: There are a few key places to find webmasters that are just begging to get link exchanges with other website owners. Often a good place to start is forums. Such as some of the ones I’ve displayed at: www. Often you can search up these forums where one of the major discussions they have is something like “Link Exchanges”. In those categories you’ll find nothing but webmasters willing to exchange links with you. And often there’s hundreds of them. There’s also many different link exchange websites where webmasters come together to do nothing but exchange links. Unfortunately many of these kinds of sites charge you a small fee to connect with other website owners. But if you’re smart you’ll do a testimonial exchange with them, that way you’ll get your link on their index page, not just on their links page. If you want to, email me your testimonial along with your full name, city, state, and website address and I’ll display it on my index page. It should be an honest assessment of this course. The longer and more glowing the better. *s* Also include your photo and you’re testimonial will get more attention and so will your website address.

BILLBOARDS: Traditionally billboards you see on the side of highways are used to direct traffic. Such as “McDonalds 2 Miles Ahead”. But it is possible to use these as another way of advertising your site. What you do is find a billboard for rent on a busy street or highway. Sometimes you can get these billboards for quite reasonable prices. On the largest highway in my province the cost was only $1000 per month. This is particularly effective if your product or service is geared toward the masses, and not on a niche market. In a single day on a busy stretch of highway you could get tens of thousands of cars driving by. An example of what might work well would be in big letters “Download Free Ring Tones, Music, and More - www.freeringtones.com “ You have to give them a reason to want to visit your site for this strategy to be effective enough for someone to take the time to write down your site and visit it.

SIGNS: If you carefully think up a strategy for signs they can be a highly effective way to draw in tons of visitors at a very low cost. For example find the bus stations that are used everyday around the major universities, I’ll use the ring tone give away as an example. You advertise that on signs you can rent at the bus stops. Mention that they can even log in with their cell phones or PDA’s to download ring tones direct to their cell phones. Have them enter their name and email address to capture their information which ads them to an autoresponder which will remind them to visit you again. Then at your website you’d have some kind of offer or networker marketers program that you’d promote as the revenue generator on your site. You’d get lots of traffic this way and tons of word of mouth advertising. As you can see by this example signage works if you target the right audience with the right offer.

TRACTOR TRAILERS: Traditionally you would purchase bill board advertising on regular large boards you see on the road sides. However, I’ve seen this form of advertising done in a very creative and most likely far less expensive fashion. For example what you can do is rent or buy an old tractor trailer. You just need the trailer, not the semi truck. You go to local farms that are strategically located beside major highways. You ask the farmer to allow you to park your tractor trailer in the corner of their field and positioned where anyone driving down either direction of the highway can see it. You paint each side of the trailer with your companies advertising on it. You could probably pay the farmer a lot less than having to rent an actual bill board. And because your billboard is painted on trailer with is mobile, it can usually bypass most advertising legalities. You’d have tens of thousands of motorists seeing your mobile bill board every day.

CUBE VANS: You buy or rent an old cube van. You don’t even have to have one that has an engine for that matter. All you want is a good box on the back. Again paint it all up with your company advertising either by doing it yourself or hiring a sign company to help you. Then you find a “major intersection” in your city that has a business, residence, or some space that you might be able to rent or possible even legally park the vehicle. You find the owner of that property and tell them exactly what you want to do. Some property owners who don’t live on the premises would be happy to make a few hundred extra dollars per month to allow you to park your cube van on their property. And because there are tons of intersections to choose from, you can even target specific areas of your city based on the typical demographics that live or frequent that area. For example, if you only want a younger more sophisticated adult audience, perhaps parking it near a college or university is the best place for it. Again for an extremely affordable price you’d have a mobile bill board parked on a major intersection of your city. And if you run into any legalities you can always move it to a new location. Again, you’d have tens of thousands of motorists seeing your mobile bill board every day.

FIVERR.COM: This website has tons and tons of advertising offers all for just 5 bucks each. So for example you can find peope to post videos to Youtube. You can find people to create backlinks, submit your site to directories, improve your SEO, and a million other ultra cheap advertising offers. So for example maybe you find 5 of the best advertising offer and you invest 25 dollars to buy those. Well that's a steal of a deal advertising buy. For just 100 you'd get 20 advertising offers that will generate some more traffic to your site. It's money well spent.

CONSTRUCTION SITES: This is one of my favorite. I seen this while visiting Hong Kong, but I think it could work just about anywhere. What you do is you simply find out what major construction projects, especially high rise buildings are under development. You find out which ones are already under construction, or you find out which are about to be developed. Then what you do is you contact the developer to find out if they would be willing to sell you ad space on their building, or construction crane. You want something that’s high up off street level where lots of people will see it each day. So what I saw in Hong Kong was a high rise that was under construction. In enormous letters on a banner at the top of the half completed building, that could be seen form miles and miles from down town Hong Kong, were the words: www.hkjobs.com . It’s just extra revenue for the developer. Often these are revenue that they don’t even consider, which could be negotiated to a minimum amount. This type of strategy works great if you can secure space in a down town location of a major city. Usually these mammoth projects can take over a year to complete which gives you advertising for quite a lengthy time period. You’d have hundreds of thousands of people seeing your banner every day if you can get it high enough off the ground.

HIGH RISES: If your company either grows extra large or can afford to do so, why not consider securing signage on the side of major high rise in the down town core of a major city. This is something you would have to negotiate with the building owners. Often these more permanent signs are reserved for major stakeholders who operate out of the high rise. However, there are opportunities to still rent office space in smaller high rises, in which case you could secure signage on the side of the high rise for many people who live and work in the down town core to see. Of course the sign itself would simply be your website address. And you could also consider operating your business out of the office itself.

BUY DOWNLINE SIGNUPS: If you want to speed up your downline growth, just buy downline signups by going to: www.prebuiltdownline.com

PAY PER VIEW EVENTS: If you can find a pay per view event that’s going to be playing you may be able to secure signage. This could be done by sponsoring the event itself in which you could secure a banner somewhere noticeable in the event stage or arena. Or it could be could be as crazy as asking a participant of the event to help with the advertising. That could be done by asking the participant you’re sponsoring to mention your website as their sponsor, if for example they win the event. Or by even going the extreme of having them paint your website on their body, such as in the example which you might have seen with various boxing and mixed martial arts events.

TATTOO ADS: This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen, and I’m not sure what to make of it, other than it’s a little overboard. It’s extreme that’s for sure. What you can do is actually go on eBay and find people who are outrageous enough to sell you advertising space on their body in the form of permanent and temporary tattoos. It’s totally crazy I know but companies are actually doing this more than you might think because it becomes a permanent ad and topic of discussion. I've seen some that are actually somewhat "tastefully done", (I know, hard to imagine) Anyway that’s all I’m going to say about it.

RADIO SPOTS: This is another effective strategy that can be used to leverage your site. Once you’re established you can approach a radio station to help you test a radio ad campaign. Again give the listeners a reason to write down your website address and visit your website, such as in the case of the free giveaway, sample, draw, information or whatever you can think of that will draw people in.

MYSPACE: List yourself on myspace and share your opportunity on there. http://myspace.com

100 BLOG SITES: Just below there is a list of over 100 blogging platforms online that you can post comments to. Your comments on any "dofollow" blogs will be spidered by Google and other search engines. You can usually include your website address as part of the blog commenters info. It creates a link to your website. So post useful relavent blog comments and you'll get google finding those comments which helps your SEO. 45 Photo Sharing Sites: websites or software where you can distribute your images. You can build traffic by sharing photos that also include your website address or your contact information in the photo itself. So as users of these sites see your images they might be curious and go and visit your website that the see in your photo. This is just one example how you can benefit from these sites.

1. Instagram – It speaks for itself.

2. Animus3 – Free photoblog hosting. Unlimited images and bandwidth. Search engine optimization for your photos.

3. Art Limited – Photos, art and critics galore.

4. DeviantART – DeviantART is probably less of a photo sharing site than any of the other sites listed here. Check out what’s been popular lately at DeviantART.

5. DropShots – Hails itself as a next generation photo and video sharing site. DropShots looks and works kind of like a desktop application.

6. Flickr – Flickr is great for sharing photos for free. It’s definately the biggest photo sharing community on the web.

7. FocalPower – Currently in a closed alpha phase, but it shows promise.

8. Fotki – Fotki seems like it’s really trying to outdo Flickr, and may be succeeding in some areas. While Fotki is easy to use, it has a lot of different options that can be overwhelming at first. One rather popular feature that’s prominent on the front page is free unlimited photo hosting for websites, blogs, emails and auctions.

9. Fotolog – Kind of Flickr meets MySpace.

10. Gallery 2 – is an open source photo album organizer packed with a ton of options for websites.

11. Humble Voice – More than just photography, it’s for artists of all genres – film, word, photography, art and music

12. ImageEvent – Available in premium and pro-premium flavors, at $24.95 and $64.95 per year respectively. The premium version allows you to store 1500 images. The pro-premium is unlimited. ImageEvent allows you to upload in a variety of ways – everything from a single file upload, to using ftp or even .zip files and more. You can also share a ton of other file formats, including videos and even documents. You can sign up for a free 21-day trial to take it for a test drive.

13. Ipernity – Share whatever you want with whoever you want – photos, videos, audio, docs. Currently in beta and free to join.

14. Kodak Gallery – Commonly known as a source for cheap prints for your snapshots. However, you can sign up for the premium service to enable enhanced hosting features and get a break on 4×6″ prints for only $0.10. There are two plans, one for $25 and one for $50. The latter of the two gives you the $0.10 print break. You can also get unique domain, such as www.kodakgallery.com/yournamehere. Unlimited download bandwidth applies to both plans.

15. Koffee Photo – Software and online hosting combined into one.

16. Multiply – For true multimedia types. It’s likely to be a big hit with bloggers and facebook fans due to the integrated sharing options.

17. My Photo Album – Another unlimited photo hosting option. My Photo Album also permits video hosting. Also good for bloggers and socialites on the likes of MySpace and Facebook for its integrated sharing. There are quite a few typos in the copy of the pages that I browsed through, along with some browser compatibility issues, which makes the site and service seem kind of amateurish. Interestingly, the main page features a banner seeking current Flickr users and provides instructions on how to migrate your Flickr account to My Photo Album.

18. One True Media – A very Web 2.0 looking site that’s clearly geared toward social media users and bloggers. Makes slideshow and video montages, among other things like photo books and ecards. Not really a photo hosting solution, but if you need to feature a slideshow on your blog, it could be an option.

19. Panoramio – Acquired by Google last year, Panoramio is photo sharing meets GPS.

20. PBase – PBase does not offer a free account option.

21. Phanfare – Very family oriented with security features as a headline offering.

22. Photo.net – Photo.net will likely only appeal to serious photographers. It is a huge community of amateur and professional photographers with a variety of skill levels and photographic experiences.

23. Photobucket – Photobucket is a media management site for photos and video. It allows one click publishing to sites like MySpace, Facebook, Friendster and Xanga. It is clearly geared toward the social media user. You can use Photobucket to create slideshows of photos and video mashups.

24. PhotoSIG – Another more serious photography community.

25. Photoworks – Supporting both film and digital, Photoworks offers services that appeal to those who like Kodak Gallery. I recall using Photoworks a dozen or so years ago for film processing, which seemed to work ok at the time; however, I don’t think that I’ve used Photoworks in the past decade. That sentence makes me feel older than I want to.

26. Photrade – Share Photos. Get Paid.

27. Picasa – Google’s free photo organizer. It combines editing software with photo sharing solutions via Picasa Web Albums.

28. Picateers – Fundraising meets photography.

29. Pickle -Hails itself as next-gen media sharing. Photos and videos in one. Instant sharing via camera phones.

30. PicMe – A unique take on photo organization for online sharing. PicMe sets itself apart by allowing you to organize your photos into stacks.

31. Pix.ie – More free photo sharing. It seems a lot like Flickr, except it’s Irish.

32. Pixamo – Again, similar to Flickr, but a little more like Flickr meets Facebook. Your free account gets you 2 gigs of total storage, which can get chewed up pretty quick if you’re uploading full-res images.

33. RedBubble – Not limited to just photos, RedBubble is truly an artists site

34. rmbr – More photo sharing and fun for the social media hooligans out there.

35. Shutterfly – Yeah, you’ve heard of these guys. More printing and sharing on par with Kodak Gallery and others like them. Shutterfly has been really pushing their photobooks. Admittedly, they look pretty cool for fun projects, but their photo quality from prints is rather lacking.

36. Slide – Taking the MySpace and Facebook crowd by storm, Slide offers photo hosting and sharing, simple editing, slideshow creations and more. Not to be taken too seriously, but if you need their services, it’s totally free.

37. SmugMug – Ah, SmugMug. SmugMug is my personal favorite for sharing and hosting images on the web. There’s no free plan to choose from; however, it is well worth the price of admission.

38. Snapfish.com by HP – Another popular photo printer like Kodak and Shutterfly. Snapfish offers unlimited hosted options and a variety of print options. You can still send film in to get developed at Snapfish too.

39. Tabblo – A place to make cool stuff with your photos.

40. Walgreens – Yep, you can upload photos to Walgreens.com. $0.12 prints and limited sharing options. Not that you would, but you could.

41. Webshots – Seems like a decent photo hosting and sharing site with both free and premium accounts. The free account gives you 1000 photos plus 100 more for each month of membership. Premium accounts ups the ante to 5000 photos plus 500 more for each month of membership. You can also download the Webshots Desktop software:

42. Winkflash – Buy prints for $0.06 for a 4×6″ print. Get unlimited storage – forever. Public sharing with your custom domain, like YourName.winkflash.com. Sounds good.

43. Zenfolio – Where pros go to share their photos. Zenfolio is a hosting service for photo galleries. You can upload and elegantly share an unlimited number of photos using simple and intuitive tools. Prices range from $25 to $100 per year. Reminds me of SmugMug in functionality. Uses EZ Photo (same as SmugMug) and MPix for printing. Check out a demo album.

44. Zooomr -Reminds me a lot of Flickr. It has many of the same photo sharing features.

45. Zoto – Unlimited storage. No ads. Beautiful interface.

46. 23 – It’s adding new features extremely fast, support in the forums is almost instantaneous and its interface is very clean.

100 Social Bookmarketing Sites: These websites allow you to share your website and or bookmarks of other sites with other members of the community. You can submit your site to many of them as a way to build more advertising and traffic to your MLM offer.

Blogging Plateforms

LIST OF BLOGGING PLATFORMS:

01. WordPress

WordPress is the most popular free blogging platform If the folks over at WordPress are to be believed (and they seem suitably trustworthy sorts), it now 'powers' over a fifth of the internet.

It's easy to see why: on WordPress.com, you can rapidly create a new blog entirely for free, with a reasonable amount of customisation; alternatively, most web hosts provide WordPress as a free single-click install, and more info on what's possible there can be found at WordPress.org.

Newcomers might find WordPress a touch bewildering initially, but it's the best free option for anyone wanting a great mix of power, customisation and usability.

02. Tumblr

Tumblr is one of the easiest free blogging platforms to use To some extent, Tumblr feels a bit like a half-way house between WordPress and Twitter. It offers more scope than the latter, but tends to favour rather more succinct output than the former.

Decent mobile apps make it easy to submit content to a Tumblr blog from anywhere, though, and it's reasonably easy to customise your theme to make it your own.

Tumblr also has a strong social undercurrent, via a following model combined with notes and favourites. Although be mindful that the service has quite a few porn bots lumbering about, which may give the faint-of-heart a bit of a shock should they check every favourite off of their posts.

03. Blogger

Blogger is one of the longest running free blogging platforms on the web You'd hope with a name like 'Blogger' that Blogger would be a decent free service for blogging. Fortunately, it is. Sign in with your Google ID, and you can have a blog up and running in seconds, which can then be customised with new themes. It is, however, a Google service, and so be a touch wary, given how abruptly that company sometimes shuts things down that millions of people were happily using.

04. Medium

Medium is a free blogging platform set up by Twitter's founders Medium is the brainchild of Twitter's founders, and appears to be their attempt to do for 'longreads' what they once did for microblogging. The result is a socially-oriented place that emphasises writing, although within an extremely locked-down set-up. It's a place to blog if you want your words to be taken seriously, and if you favour a polished, streamlined experience. But if you're big on customisation and control, look elsewhere.

05. Svbtle

Svbtle is a stripped-back free blogging platform for longform writing Describing itself as a "blogging platform designed to help you think", Svbtle is fairly similar to Medium in approach. It again strips everything right back, resulting in a bold, stylish experience that pushes words to the fore. It could easily become your favourite blogging platform for the act of writing, but it again relies on you also wanting something extremely simple and not caring a jot about customisation.

06. LiveJournal

LiveJournal combines blog and social networking One of the veterans of this list, LiveJournal (like Blogger) started life in 1999. Perhaps because of its age, it rather blurs the lines (the site says "wilfully") between blogging and social networking.

The result is more of a community that affords you your own space, but that also very much encourages communal interaction. It is possible to fashion something more private, but to get the most out of LiveJournal, you need to be prepared to delve into discussion as much as writing.

07. Weebly

Weebly is a website creation tool that includes free blogging templates Weebly bills itself more as a website-creation system than something for solely creating a blog. It's based around drag-and-drop components, which enable you to quickly create new pages.

However, blogging is also part of the system, and you get access to customisable layouts, a bunch of free themes, and the usual sharing features you'd expect, to spread your words far and wide.

08. Postach.io

Postach.io is a free blogging platform from the creators of Evernote Postach.io claims it's the "easiest way to blog". It's from the people behind Evernote, and, naturally, is deeply integrated into their system.

Essentially, you just connect a notebook to Postach.io and then tag notes as 'published' to make them public.

However, you get some customisation, too, including a bunch of themes, the means to embed content from other sites, Disqus commenting, and the option to instead use Dropbox for storing content.

09. Pen.io

Pen.io is one of the only free blogging platforms you don't need a login for Pen.io's approach is also rather different from its contemporaries. Unusually, it doesn't require a login &mdash; instead, you define a URL for a post and set a password.

Images can be dragged into place, and you can create multi-page posts using a tag. And that's about it.

Really, it's a stretch to call Pen.io a blog in the traditional sense, but it's a decent option for banging out the odd sporadic post, especially if you don't want any personal info stored.

10. Ghost

Open source platform Ghost is free if you install it on your own system Something slightly different for our final entry. Unlike the others on this list, Ghost is only free if you download and install it yourself; use the Ghost site and you pay on the basis of traffic.

However, this system differentiates itself in other important ways: it's entirely open source, and while writing you get a live preview of how your post will end up.

You need to be technically minded for this one, then, but it's a worthy alternative to WordPress if you're happy to get your hands dirty and have your own web space that's awaiting a blog.

11.Penzu.com
Penzu is loved because of it’s versatility: There are three different types of journals you can start when you sign up for the site: Daily Diary (public), Expressive Journal (private), and Travel Journal (great if you’re going on a trip). You can also try the site out before you sign up for it as well.

12.https://blogs.bing.com/
A super-slick and modern platform, https://blogs.bing.com/ fis a solid player backed by a huge search engine.

13. Webs.com
This is a great platform to use if you’re looking to create more of a professional environment for your readers. You can drag and drop elements around your site for the ultimate customized page. The site also featured an ecommerce feature—great if you’re trying to sell a product.

14. Wix.com
Wix features hundreds of unique and very professional-looking templates that can easily be customized to keep your blog unique and different from everyone else’s. You can also add apps onto your site as well as an online store and your links to your social media accounts.

15. Google+
Browse at Plus.Google.com

If you need a guide on how to use Google Plus we’ve got you covered, because we’ve been trying to dominate it for a year now. Fun features like the badge make getting followers easier. Google Plus brings you instant community + audience – two things any blogger wants more of. Make sure to share publicly if you want to build any sort of following.

16. Hubpages
Browse at HubPages.com

About:

Hubpages started as an article network, the kind of place where you were rewarded for publishing lots of articles on any one topic like cooking, travel or home-improvement. Today, it boasts millions of informative articles and guides. However, a by-product of mass publishing is slightly lesser quality. You may find articles at Hubpages you’d wonder why anyone would ever publish. Or, you may find the best home for your blogging and writing needs.

17. Joomla
Browse at Joomla.com

About:

Joomla is an advanced CMS used by developers to publish some of the websites we visits each day. Written in PHP, it uses many of the same structures as a WordPress site does. For whatever reason, developers have flocked elsewhere, but Joomla remains one of the web’s oldest and savviest places to run a blog or website.

18. Quora
Browse at Quora.com

Recommended for: Question and answer based websites
Released: June 21st, 2010
Founder: ?
Total users: 500,000 reported in 2011, more now.
Pros: Collaborative feel and separate blogging platform recently released.
Cons: Less costumization.
Costs: Free
Interesting facts: 30% of Quora users hail from India. Founded by two former Facebook employees.
My verdict: If you’re passionate about a topic but don’t have the time to maintain a blog, submitting questions and answers to Quora discussions is a great compromise.

19. Typepad
Browse at Typepad.com

Founded October 2003:
Founder: Say Media
Total users: ?
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Less costumization
Costs: Free
My verdict: Just love the news? If so, know that ABC, BBC, CBS, MSNBC and more use Typepad to maintain blogs.

20. Drupal
Browse at Drupal.org

Recommended for: Blogging, Content Management, Web Applications
Founded: January 2001
Founder: Dries Buytaert
Total users: 1 million users and 30K developers
Pros: 22,900 free add-ons, free and premium themes via the Drupal Theme Garden
Cons: Quite involved, not ideal for beginners
Costs: ?
My verdict: Fun for developers and bloggers with a real interest in building code.

21. Squidoo
Browse at Squidoo.com

Founded: 2005
Founder: Seth Godin
Total users: 1.5 million
Pros: Lenses and points systems to level up are only part of the fun.
Cons: Like Hubpages, you might not feel an ownership of your work.
Costs: Free
My verdict: A classy place to meet others before you get more serious about blogging.

22. Facebook Notes
Browse at Facebook.com/notes

Recommended for: Social media integrated blogging
Founded: 2013
Founder: Facebook Developers
Total users: Well, 1.1 billion already on Facebook…
Pros: Simple to share images, links and quotes – useful if you’ve got a large, Facebook-centric audience already.
Cons: Limited design and that blue Facebook-y feel we all should just escape every now and then.
Costs: Free
My verdict: Not much different from a Facebook page – I predict this to be a feature Facebook tries, directs advertisers to, then slowly wanders away from.

23. Sett
Browse at Sett.com

Founded: Early 2013
Founder: Tynan (a blogger) and Todd Iceton
Total users: 1,000 – 10,000
Pros: Generally bent on community, top navigation bar like Blogger, has a word-matching system that matches similar posts and will recommend users to your posts the moment they sign-up, private discussions, one click subscription system
Cons: Premium service that allows for more image hosting (does this mean normal users are limited?)
Costs: Free with premium service offered
My verdict: I’ve always believed it’s the readers who really grow a blog, not so much the blogger him/herself. 80/20. So I’m excited here. Will they win the battle for 3rd place? Either way, the web is always better with more variety, more options, more places to blog.

24. Posthaven
Browse as Posthaven.com

Founded: Early 2013
Founder: Ghost Foundation
Total users: 10,000 – 50,000
Pros: Post by email. Oh and “they’ll never get acquired, never shut down” as long as you pay them.
Cons: “Simple, easy blogs for $5 a month, forever.”
Costs: 5 bucks
My verdict: They’re a group of engineers who want to build blogs for us. Love this idea and wish them the best. But as a company you just can’t get ahead in an open environment like blogging by trying to control things, at least not upfront. Their technology might be great and “durable” but most of us will never know, because their marketing is a zero and their homepage design is really weak.
